The condo was beautiful! I could live there full time! It was clean and well laid out. Guests are treated so well! There is a main pool and satellite pools all over the place. There is a great restaurant and two great tiki bars. This place is perfect for kids as is a water park for the kids. This is also close to all of the Orlando theme parks. We will be returning!

"Relaxing!"
My husband and I travelled to Summer Bay with our 3 children and stayed in a 2 bedroom condo. The resort is beautiful! Lots of pools to choose from - we loved alternating between the main pool and the big one at the back of the resort!
"great stay"
We stayed at Summer Bay Resort in a 3 bedroom condo on Feb.1 thru Feb 6. What a nice resort. Our condo had lots of room and was clean and comfy. Everyone was really nice and very helpful. One of the activities directors referred us to a great nature walk at Weikeva Springs. Only 2 things that were kind of a bummer were that the watersport activity center was not open and there was a fee charged for the miniature golf. We still had a great time fishing and playing tennis as well as making use of the pools. Yes we did attend the timeshare presentation which was informative and we had a free breakfast and got $100. The projects that they have planned for the resort will only make it better. Would definitely stay there again but since we are not resort owners, we cannot go back there for 4 years. Bummer. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
"Nice Stay"
Husband and I stayed for several days at the Hotel. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was less than expected but decent. We were able to use the activities at the club house (made tie-dyed t-shirts $6). We were not able to use any of the pools or extras due to the cold weather that came in and being in a wheelchair this visit, buy it was mostly handicapped accessible. It was close to a lot of food and about 15 minutes from Disney parks/downtown.
"Great resort, Close to Disney"
Stayed here for five nights in September. Great experience. Quick and easy check in. Stayed in one bedroom villa which was perfect. Clean, very spacious. Loved the balcony and private pools scattered through resort. Had a 24 hour pool, which was great. Mini golf for cheap. Activities held throughout the day. Close to all the great nearby attractions. Great price for all you get. Very satisfied with stay and will definitely be back.

Stayed at Summer Bay over the New Year period. Got off to a rocky start as RCI had not sent our booking to the resort but this was sorted quickly and we were given our room keys. We were a party of 7 with a 2 bed condo and a 1 bed condo, the units were very spacious and well equipped. The 2 bed unit had a master bedroom with jacuzzi. The resort had a free New Years eve party with Fireworks which was great fun and good atmosphere. The resort is close to Disney and the hotel does provide complimentary transport but we did not use this. There is a Publix supermarket and Deny's Diner at the entrance to the resort which was very useful.We also ate at the Pool Bar and the Pizza Restaurant which were both good and reasonably priced. All of the staff were very helpful and I would definitely return although not around the Xmas/New Year period as the parks are too busy!

"Great Family Location"
Good time - and enough to do on the premises to keep the kids happy. The bars are friendly for the adults and games and events are offered for everyone. Jet ski rental is reasonable, pools are clean and heated. This was our second visit and we will be back.
"Very enjoyable, well maintained"
My wife and I spent a week at the resort. We were later joined by our daughter, her boyfriend and our grandson. What was pleasing to me was that I emphasized that I did not wish to be contacted by a salesperson from the resort. My wishes were honored. One of the reasons we selected Summer Bay Resort is that it was close to Disney World. A free shuttle picked up guests at the resort and brought them back from the park. Our unit was on the first floor across from the activity center/check-in. We obtained a unit with a lock out. We found both apartments to be very clean and comfortable. Our daughter and grandson occupied the larger apartment. I was surprised to see that both units had a full kitchen. The main apartment was larger and had a king sized in the one bedroom along with Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The second bedroom had a queen sized bed and a bathroom with a tub/shower bath next to it. It had a large sitting area and dining area in an open arrangement. There was a small veranda outside the sitting area accessible by using patio doors. The lock out unit contained one bedroom with a king sized bathroom with a tub/shower. The sitting area and dining area were smaller but adequate. There were televisions in the sitting areas and bedrooms as well as dvd players. The beds were comfortable with multiple pillows. The grounds were well maintained and nicely landscaped. Each complex had a swimming pool hot tub and a small lake with a fountain in the center. In one complex there was an outdoor bar. Behind the activity center was a large swimming pool and a hot tub. A restaurant adjoined the activity center as well as a small workout room. One could walk to a very large lake from the rear of the activity center. There was a dock where one could fish with a rod and bait supplied by the resort for a small fee. A small beach lined the lake. One could rent a wave runner, a small speed boat, or a paddle boat. I felt the wave runner and speed boat were too expensive so I opted for the paddle boat to the chagrin of my five year old grandson. My grandson and I fished in the lake. We had numerous strikes but no fish although several fish were taken around us. We were told by a fellow fisherman that a four pound bass had been taken. My grandson very much enjoyed the swimming pools. I believe he spent time in nearly all of them. All in all our stay there was very pleasurable. Beside the high bathtub my only complaint was that I could not receive a wifi signal in out apartment. My daughter was able to receive a signal which was good since both she and her boyfriend have a business and required wifi. I guess one should not even have a electronic device when one is on vacation but I guess it is necessary in this day and age.
"Great location"
We have stayed at Summer Bay Resort a couple of times and have never been disappointed. The location is great, just 15 minutes away from Disney. The resort itself is neat and clean. We had a couple of issues with the tv and ice maker but the issues were rectified immediately. The kitchen in the unit was well stocked and the unit itself was spotless except for the carpet which has seen better days! If possible request the 500 building area which was next to the pool and bar, every afternoon from 4-7 is happy hour and entertainment nightly!!! There is no coffee on site except for the pot in the room, but if you go out to 192 and take a right, about a 1/4 mile on right is a gas station with a Dunkin Donuts inside. Behind that is a Publix supermarket which comes in handy. Overall I would recommend Summer Bay for your next Disney vacation. Close enough to the parks and far enough away from the parks at the same time!!
"good start to vacation"
Travelling with friend from vancouver, she actually booked 3 nights through RCI. Resort was very well kept, tidy gardens , litter free, quiet & friendly, helpful staff. Apartment was spacious, clean & all we required.
"Regular stay"
We stay here every year for our annual WDW trip. We book through AFVC so the value is unbeatable. But the resort is amazing. It's not in the busy part of the area so it's quiet and kind of a hidden gem. So many activities and things to do at the resort that we never get to do them all. Condo Rooms are huge with everything you need. Rooms are always clean and well lit. Never have had any issues staying here. We will be back next year. Great place for kids or for adults with no kids. Pools everywhere. Tiki bar. Lots to do. Only takes 10 mins to get to main entrance of WDW.
"Full service resort near Disneyworld"
The staff are friendly and check in is easy. The condos are great. Each one is complete with full kitchen, appliances, two tvs, micro. There is a main pool and satellite pools all over the place. There is a small restaurant and two great tiki bars. This place is great for kids. There is a water park for the kids. The vegetation is lush. This is also close to all of the Orlando theme parks. We will be returning.
"Amazing!"
This place is great! The grounds with like 5 pools and a huge lake were just a fraction of what this resort offers. We could have not done anything in the area and been very happy with the many things to do at this resort. We spent many days just relaxing at the pools, grilling out, shopping the roadside fruit and veggie stands and just soaking up Florida outside of Disneyworld. Of course we enjoyed our time there too but the resort was just amazing. I highly recommend going to this resort for safe, enjoyable stays.

Guests are treated so well! When I was driving, staff in their various modes of transportation always stopped to let me go. They always had a smile and a wave. On my first night there, the lights in the master bedroom didn't work. I called the front desk and a maintenance person was there within ten minutes. He quickly found the problem, fixed it, told me how to get to the nearest Walmart (I'd forgotten my cell phone charger), and was gone. I'm a stickler for cleanliness in places where strangers come and go in living quarters, especially bathrooms. The bathrooms were spotless as was the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses for eight, nice pots and pans, and plenty of soap for the dishwasher. The pools and hot tubs were beautiful and spotless. Everything was close to perfect! I look forward to going back!

"Pleasantly surprised, kids loved it even when we were not at the park!"
Was nervous after reading some of the reviews before our stay at Summer Bay. I was soooo pleasantly surprised. We had a great stay and would return. There are 3 types of timeshare units, villas, condos, privates homes (with swimming pools) in addition to hotel rooms. Private homes are largest, then condos, villas are smallest. Some of the reviewers might not have realized they booked a hotel room when thinking they were booking a timeshare With kitchen. I think you need to be specific when making reservations. Condos are newer and although sparse, very spacious and nicely decorated. Reading the reviews regarding cleanliness we were concerned as I am a self proclaimed cleanliness freak. The floors passed the white sock test. The linens were clean & white. No mildewy smell at all as a another review stated. There were a few specs of mildew in the main shower, but otherwise very clean. There is no safe in the room. Although I felt secure, I would have preferred a safe in the room. The kitchen was nicely stocked. There was a package with 1 time use tide & bounce along with a few packers of dishwasher soap & a dish soap. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner & bar soap upon arrival. The Tuesday tidy service was simply a towel change. The waterpark area in the lake was very reasonable, for $12 kids played literally all day until dusk on the inflatables. Great buy as we paid almost $40 an hour down the jersey shore for similar. Pontoon boats, little boats, fishing poles & jet skis also to rent. The guy who rents the equipment was super nice & accommodating. There is also a spray park and many pools. I believe they are all "salt water" - Which is very nice! One complaint is that the towels at the pool are Incredibly cheap, small, thin, gym size towels though plentiful. I would highly recommend to bring your own. There was also mini golf, tennis & basketball courts all easily accessible. We only ate at the resort once, and that was enough. Prices were reasonable, though moderate quality at best. There are enough fast food and chain type restaurants very close. In addition, there is a publix's on site so you can make meals or pick something up. There is also a Walmart within a few miles. Disney & Universal are about 15 mins away. The on-site attraction desk was really helpful in booking tickets and helping to plan activities suited to our family. Staff we encountered was accommodating and friendly. Once we told the sales people we were not at all interested in sitting through a sales pitch, they stopped calling. This is is the same protocol as any time share resort. Just say no, and they leave you alone! Sad to leave, though will be back.
"Great and Close to Disney."
Booked a couple condos for a handful of our family members. This was close to Disney with a nice view of the lake. Nice beds, and the staff was very helpful. Wall-mart was also a few minutes down the road which makes it really convenient for a grocery. This is a great place if you are coming to Disney with a large group of people.
"Nice stay close to Disney"
The pool was very nice. Family friendly amenities. We had a 2 bedroom unit in bldg. 203. Clean and fresh white linens, no dingy bedspreads to deal with. About a 10 mile drive to Disney. Nice view of a lake outside our back patio.
"Great place for Families"
We made our reservation through RCI which was hassle free. There was 17 of us that went for a Disney Vacation and I booked three Condo's at Summer Bay. I made a request that all three be together and the Summer Bay staff was more then helpful. This is a Timeshare resort so we went there knowing there might be a sales pitch, they only talked to us once and I explained that we were not interested at this time, we were for the most part left alone except for a few phone calls to our room to make sure we didn't want the tour. ( can't blame them for doing there job but we were not hassled at all, very friendly staff). The family spent most of our time at Disney but we did have a chance to enjoy the pools, the kiddie water park which was great for kids and some of my family participated in a scavenger hunt that Summer Bay hosted, won some real neat prizes to. Property is great to walk around and relax, they have BBQ grills both gas and charcoal behind each property. The Staff in Housekeeping, Maintance and Security always treated us nice and would always greet us with a smile and hello. I would highly recommend Summer Bay, it is just 10 minutes from Disney World, there is a Publix Grocery store next store for all your needs, Wal-Mart 3 min away and a real fun Helicopter tour accross the street which I went on and had a blast. So go and enjoy, but realize you will be asked for the tour it is thier job so don't get offended, the place is great..
"Close to Disney!"
Our first time staying here, we enjoyed ourselves. We were not there much, only used the pool / water park one evening. It was great to gave a washer/dryer. They give you enough supplies for 1 wash, bring some single travel tide or something to avoid buying full sized soap down there. Publix was really close. We bought snacks and breakfast foods - highly recommend. Had a 1 room suite, nice enough and clean, but nothing fancy. Easy check-in and check out. Did not do the "free" breakfast, so we didn't have to listen to the time share info. Would stay there again!
"Fantastic Vacation"
Just returned from staying at Summer Bay Resort and loved it! We have stayed at many different resorts and private pool homes and this by far was my best buy ever! Got a steal for the week from Sky Auction and was amazed at how nice the 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit was. We were in a building all by ourselves. It was modern, clean and we lacked for nothing. Pools were beautiful, especially the salt water one. My only complaint about the resort was that my internet was out the whole time we were there. I did go to the pool and was able to connect. Will definately go back.
"Wonderful Family Vacation!!"
We reserved 2 -3 BR units this past week and had a wonderful family vacation with 2 of our children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren ages 3-5 years old while visiting Disney. We were in building #405 directly across from the activity center with 2 adjoining rooms on the 3rd floor, and were greeted at the gate by our personal concierge (a new program); Henry, who took us directly to our units, gave us an update on all amenities, brochures on Disney, along with all resort schedule, etc. What a wonderful way to check in and avoid the hassle of high pressure sales people after traveling. Henry did invite us to a breakfast for more info but he was not trying to sell timeshare, only to make our visit more enjoyable. He did say we could do a timeshare presentation if we wanted, but he was not in sales. We received no calls about presentations during the week,(unplugged the room phones, had cell phones). We truly enjoyed our 2nd visit to this resort; 1st was 15 years ago and what a difference in size, buildings, amenities, etc. The amenities are excellent, many pools ( nearly 1 for each building) & lots of daily activities. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed the Kid's waterpark and the Build A Buddy activity at the Activity Center where they built their own stuffed animal for only $10.00. The rooms wee exceptionally clean, well stocked, and we had everything in supplies needed for the week. If possible, be sure to attend The Dueling Pianos on Thursday night At The Big Kahuna for some real enjoyable entertainment. The food is good and reasonably priced.
