Absolute Nakalay Beach Resort Phuket

The studio room we stayed in was modern, clean, and well kept. The bed was comfortable and soft, with cushy pillows. What's better is that the central AC unit functioned perfectly! The swimming pool is not very big at all and has a lot of traffic around the middle of the day. We enjoyed swimming in the late afternoon when the rowdy kids had been carted off by their parents, leaving the pool deserted. If you don't speak Russian or Thai, you're basically limited to 3-4 channels on the TV. We are news junkies anyway, so flipping between the three news stations was enough for us, while every now and again we'd switch on the music TV station. Pretty good selection of music, we think. The room was equipped with a stereo sound system, but we had to bring our own RJ25 cord to connect our iPhone via the headset jack. There was an iPhone connector available, but it was for an older model and not compatible with ours. Fortunately, we travel prepared for such circumstances (having been world travelers now for quite some time). The fitness center is a great amenity. It's usually pretty empty. It's also equipped with a surround sound system that the staff are happy to help you connect to so you can rock out to some of your own music while you work out. We thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are somewhat self sufficient in figuring out your transportation, this is a great place to stay. It's relatively quite, except for the VERY LOUD motorbikes and tuk tuks that go by on the major street nearby. The good news is that the doors to our (spacious) balcony blocked out the sound quite effectively. Very pleased!

We stayed for 7 days and on arrival were greeted in the air conditioned reception area with a welcome drink and some friendly, beautiful smiles! We had the studio on the 2 floor and it was garden facing. The room was spacious and nothing like you would expect a "studio" would be. We made full use of the shuttle service daily and would usually pick up the shuttle at the Police box in the evening (after they did their rounds). We found a lovely supermarket at Banana Walk and did our own breakfast in the mornings and enjoy the local foods during the day. We would then take the shuttle bus either to one of the beaches or Patong. The service was excellent, the staff friendly and most helpful and I would gladly recommend the Absolute Nakalay to anyone that does not want to stay close to the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach and surrounds.

Having not stayed at this Resort before I did not know what to expect. We booked the Penthouse Apartment, WOW is all I can say, luxury rooms, luxury views and with our very own private pool, sun deck and spa on the roof of our Penthouse Apartment. The views were what dreams are made of, looking east across the water to Patong Beach and its starry lights at night and West towards the ocean and mountains watching the Sunset each day. The staff were fantastic, went out of their way to ensure we knew we were here for a holiday. Although not in the heart of Patong's action, the hotel mini bus transfer service only took 10 mins to get us there and it was so quiet at night, the sound of the ocean was so relaxing. You have to try this resort, at least once in your life.

We exchanged our Absolute Koh Samui weeks to stay here and were given what must be premier apartment. Fantastic sea views, roof top deck with extra 3 rd bedroom, jacuzzi plus private small pool. Excellent facilities in apartment, full kitchen, dining area lounge , wrap around balcony. Perfect place to relax. Good gym downstairs and very efficient shuttle service to Patong.

I know there are a lot of negative reviews of this hotel here on trip advisor but my friends,family and I had a wonderful stay. I will say now that we are Absolute Club members, so without a doubt i was concerned with the reviews of a lot of previous guests. We were aware that there was no easy beach access from the hotel and this didn't concern us at all, although they should just rename themselves Nakalay Bay Resort to stop the confusion and frustration for their guests. We were met at the airport at 9pm and it was a 40 minute drive so we were very grateful for this. The van was clean and comfortable and this is one of the same vans they use to shuttle their guests to Patong and Kamala Beaches each day. When we arrived late that night we were taken to our room which was one of the 2 bedroom penthouses. This was a nice surprise as this was an unexpected upgrade, I assume because we are club members. The apartment was fantastic. With everything very clean and modern looking. Samsung tv's and dvd's in each bedroom and the living room. A well equipped kitchen, and a well stocked mini bar which has reasonable prices. To be fair you can go out and stock up with as much cold drinks and beer as you want as there is a large fridge. The bathrooms were very spacious, modern and clean. Up a spiral staircase in the penthouses, each have a jacuzzi and also a small plunge pool, 4 lounge chairs and even a toilet and shower so you don't need to go back downstairs. We had breakfast downstairs 3 times which was decent with a choice of cereals, type of bread, fruit plate, and choice of cooked eggs which came always came with crispy bacon. We had lunch a couple of times and I enjoyed the food both times, pricing is very reasonable too. Room Service was limited to a small list of items available on the full menu, but to be fair it was all you really need for room service. The hotel have a nice gym with everything you could need for a decent workout. Most of the machines and weights looked brand new. The pool area is quite small but never seemed to be packed any time I was down there. As I mentioned before the hotel provide a shuttle service to Kamala beach (which is a wonderful looking beach) which goes there and back once a day (they should go there at least twice). and a regular service to Patong, which is very built up with lots of shops and bars. All in all Nakalay is a nice resort and i would happily go back there again in the future. Just remember there is no beach and you should be fine!

Perfect location for our family holiday with two kids. The accomodation was first class and we also very happy with the ammendities. The staff were superb and made every effort to make our family holiday memorable and fun. The location of this resort is between the busy Patong and the quieter Kamala Beach which is the ideal mix for the shopping and relaxation. We will definately go again!

My husband and I had just spent 5 days at the resort. We have nothing but praises for the service we got at the hotel. The rooms were big and comfortable. We could catch the shuttle bus to and from Patong 5 to 6 times a day. We had a beautiful sea view room as requested. The service staff tries their best to accommodate our request in the shortest time. They are all smiley and polite. It's so nice to see a smiling face first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The only fallback of the hotel is that there is no access to the beach. As my husband and I both are not beach goers, that didn't bother us one bit. Thank you for making our stay such a wonderful experience.

Having been to Phuket 3 times before, my wife and I were looking for somewhere a little quiter than Patong. We stayed in a Penthouse room with wonderful ocean views. The upstairs lap pool and jacuzzi was ensured the perfect relaxation we expected, and for anyone over 50, this should be your next holiday destination. All staff were wonderful and could not help enough, always with the loveliest of Thai smiles. Patong was close enough, but far enough away, with the occaisional tuktuk trip back to Nakalay after a few drinks. A great supermarket in Junlceylon will provide all your needs for both eating in your room and the odd beer or ten, at very cheap prices, Overall, would go back tomorrow for another 2 weeks.

I will say first up that we had a wonderful stay in a studio unit at Absolute Nakalay. The place is only a few years old and everything still has a new and modern feel to it. Bedrooms are a very good size and well appointed with flat screen TV (plenty of channels in English and other languages), DVD and ipod connection. Wifi is free and works well. Rooms are equipped with cooktop, microwave, full size fridge and enough pots, pans, plates and crockery if want to self cater. Bathroom and shower are spacious, plenty of hot water and pressure as needed. Room was extremely quiet, we didn't hear one shower or toilet flush, and airconditioning is efficient and low noise. Staff are friendly, and while some lack initiative, will meet your requests efficiently and are helpful. Pool area, although not large, was never crowded and gym is spacious and has enough for general fitness with treadmill, stepper, cross trainer and bike plus free weights, bench and 3 multi purpose life fitness weight machines.

The studio was great;- modern, spacious, very well equipped, very clean, could not find fault . Even though we were near a busy road, we could not hear the traffic noise. The pool was clean and the beach towels were huge. Breakfast was adequate, if limited. There was not much choice in the restaurant for the evening meal but the studio had stove, microwave oven and full sized 'frige so you could cook meals. There are no shops or restaurants within walking distance but there is a free shuttle bus to Patong 4 or 5 times a day. Officially there is no access to the Nakalay beach, but actually it is hardly worth trying to get there because it is full of rocks and stones. This place suits people who like to vegetate in very comfprtable surrounds, or people with their own transport. Take a book, (or 10 books), and enjoy.

Absolute Nakalay is a great little resort - Jade Tanzi nailed it in her earlier review! This was a timeshare exchange for us and a first time stay in Phuket. I chose this resort as it is near new, the studio apartment with a well equipped mini kitchen was spacious, attractive and exactly as in the promotional pictures. We enjoyed a side view from our room over lush greenery. Checkin and out: Hassle free. We arrived early, left our bags and took the free shuttle into Phuket.There was a complimentary fruit basket on arrival and 2 bottles of free water left in the fridge each day. Food & Beverage: Breakfast looked nice however we prefer to eat out. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails on a couple of occasions by the pool (3 for price of 2 cocktails) This is a small resort so don't expect a Hilton Menu! Shuttle Service: Good - at peak times on the hour pickup/ drop off at Jungcelon Shopping Centre where there is a terrific supermarket to buy your supplies - if the shuttle is full it does a turn around and comes back for you and does an extra trip. The drivers were friendly and very obliging, sometimes dropping us off at our fave restaurants. One time we misssed the shuttle. The security staff flagged down a tuk tuk on the main road and for 250 baht we were in Patong in 10 mins. Staff: All staff are very polite, happy and obliging. We booked a trip to Pi Pi which was well priced with transport and enjoyable. We had a great week at Nakalay and really enjoyed the resort which was fully booked. There were many types of travellers, couples, families with little kids and family groups. I enjoyed the pool on most afternoons on my sun lounge and also enjoyed a quiet early morning swim each morning at 7am - this is part of my regular routine. I swim laps. You could stay closer in to Patong however I doubt you would find any better value for money! There is a group of 3 excellent restaurants about 3 mins from the resort on a bend with great views over the bay. Bah Rim Pa, Joes Diner and Da Maurizio. The resort shuttle will drop you off and pick you up. Just ask the driver nicely and please throw a few baht in their tip jar occassionaly if you appreciate the extra service. Two restaurants to try in Patong. Number 6 - number 2. Restaurant No 6 near Jungceylon supplies a tuk-tuk to their second restaurant which is hillside with super cheap brilliant Thai food, great cocktails and a lovely view. Go just before the sun goes down and hang on for the ride! Da Mario for great Italian in a cool atmosphere Look for the pink Fiat Bambina at the front!

Absolute Nakaly is a great little resort located in between Patong and Kamala Beach, although it's on the main road we found it be a great location, especially because we hired our own motorbike for $5/day! They also have a free shuttle to Patong and Kamala which is great! The rooms are great! We stayed in a studio room which has a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area, a small balcony, it was perfect for us, very new and modern! The pool is only small however there's hardly anyone around so we usually had it to ourselves which was lovely. They also have a great gym which my husband was very happy about. They also have FREE WIFI and 2 computers in the reception that people can use the internet on for free which was great! I had ready previously that even thought it's called a 'beach resort' there's actually no access to the beach so we were prepared for that and to be honest we didn't even check to see if we could get to the beach! It didn't bother us one bit, we just jumped on our motorbike and drove to Patong which is literally 5 minutes away! The staff made our stay even more AMAZING! They went out of their way to help us whenever it was needed. Whenever we called reception for something we had someone at our room in less than 5 minutes and the thing that topped it off was when we had to go to the airpoprt we booked our own taxi so we could get a cheaper price and when the taxi didn't turn up, the staff organised for us to go in the hotel car (very quickly!)and only charged us what we were planning on paying the taxi. So we loved our stay at Absolute Nakalay and would reccomend this hotel to anyone planning to go there!

We have stayed with this group before in 2 of their other Resorts and when we did, they showed us this resort, Yes WOW, for relaxing and being 5 minutes out of town, so we booked in this time at the Nakalay. We stayed for 1 week (as we got a great deal as being return customers). This resort is Brand New with loads of Luxury, the staff were so helpful, the views were magnificent, we were upgraded from the one bedroom apt to a penthouse which had it's own roof top pool and spa WOW, overlooking the ocean. We had such a great relaxing time, not far away from the city, but if felt like we were a million miles away, yes, so relaxing. Our room was huge and fully self contained with everything you need, including a western kitchen (not that we cooked much). We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for some R&R or looking for a great family holiday spot.

Stayed there for 10 days - penthouse suite! Could not have imagined anything better, we had an amazing holiday! Thank you Nakalay!
