We just got back from a weeks vacation at your Resort. It was everything I could have wanted. "Off Season - no crowds great experience"
All rooms are beachfront. so wonderful views. Check in across the street wasn't bad. The rooms are all repainted, baths redone, kitchen new. living room furniture 80's. Elevators and hallways are still being renovated. Elevators can be slow..especially during peak check out/in time. Housekeeping was good. Had issue w/safe..maintenance sent up in 15 minutes. Notice mgmt was always walking around making sure the facilities was clean. Lots of pools.. no issue w/lounges since off season. The slides was awesome. Great for my kids 10 and 14 year old. I felt like we were safe. Loco gecko restaurant had good food. Got an excellent rate thru travelzoo..so for the price it was a great experience
"Pleasant stay"
From August 29th through September 1 (labor day weekend) we stay here...myself my husband and some family members a total of 5 of us. I read a lot of nasty reviews prior to going and had some concerns. Ok...a lot of concerns! I was thinking I was going to walk in and walk right back out and go else where! Boy was I wrong! Lots of people mentioned that they had to walk across the street to check in. This is true but didn't seem to be the inconvenience everyone made it out to be. I think people need to keep in mind this is a resort and as resorts go they pack a heavy punch when it comes to occupancy. I was literally 5 minutes behind my cousins and they were already walking back to the parking garage when I pulled in. I must add there was a family reunion there while we stayed...and this still didn't slow anything down. The only thing that was slow was the elevators...but I think this was because there was so many people. Upon entering our room (11th floor) I noticed the beds were neatly made up the bathrooms were very tidy and smelled fresh and clean! The floors were very well vacuumed including the balcony carpet! The kitchen area was spotless! I really don't know what most people are talking about unless some are very hard to please! I was very comfortable the entire time I was there! Room service even bought me coffee filters after I forgot to buy some (coffee freak). They didn't have to do this but they insisted! The pool area was beautiful! Keep in mind I said there was a large family reunion and during the day the pool area was congested. Since we had no children with us this wasn't an issue we just used it mostly in the evening. Any staff we came in contact with were extremely nice! From the maids to the front counter people...everyone was so pleasant and seemed to really like their job! We walked through the arcade area and it was very nice! The loco geko caf was awesome! We had some drinks and come dinner the first night and pretty reasonable prices for a resort. In all I would definitely stay at the crown reef again. Don't judge them solely on what others have said! I almost did and honestly I was terrified to go....but ended up being very very happy with my stay!
"3rd time and still a great place to stay"
My husband and 2 sons (aged 16 and 9) stayed here for a week at the end of August. This was the 3rd time and we had a great time. Couldn't find anything really to complain about. We had a renovated room in Tower 2 and it was very nice and clean. The water slides were definitely a fun addition and they went well with all the other amenities that this hotel has to offer. Other reviews said this shouldn't be classified as a "resort" and I agree but if it was a true resort, the price would be much higher. Once all the planned renovations are done, I suspect the rates will go up significantly. The carpets should be replaced and the pools need to be painted but we felt this was a great value for what you got. The staff was amazing, the amenities are the best in MB and the view is just spectacular. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
"Birthday weekend."
Great location with an excellent view of the sunrise. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Lots of things to do, even in inclement weather. We were a group of adults, children and grandchildren with fun for all. The pools and slides were awesome for all ages and the walk to the beach is very well maintained no matter which exit you use from the hotel. A great stay

"Great Family Fun!"
I wanted to give my daughter's their first vacation that they would remember. After reading the mixed reviews of the Crown Reef Resort and knowing that the Crown Reef was in the remodeling process I went ahead and booked a 5 night stay here. And to tell you the truth I am glad I did. Some of the negative reviews that I have read just seemed to be highly exaggerated. I think some people are just never pleased and expect to get the Ritz-Carlton treatment at a budget resort. Yes there were some short comings during my stay at the resort, but nothing that i allowed to ruin my vacation. Even with the few issues we had my family had such a good time here that we extended our vacation and stayed an additional day at Crown Reef. If you are not high maintenance and just want nice place next to the beach with pools and water park this is the place to go.

Decent amenities but really needs a facelift. Loved the ocean view, better than another hotel offering 45 deg. View. Read bad reviews before arrival so we were nervous- not as bad as led to believe. kids loved the many pools and hot tubs - these were missed when we left. our kitchen was renovated and nice. Murphy bed in living room loved by the kids too. Elevator was down but repair company was there when we left.

"First time"
First time to Myrtle Beach, and loved it!!! I did a bunch of research on a place to stay and this Hotel caught my eye and had best bang for the buck. Yes it did have some awful reviews, but went ahead and took the chance, and it was well worth it. The Crown Reef is no 5 star resort, but if your looking for a good price, tons of pools, hot tubs, water slides, clean rooms, awesome ocean view, and friendly staff then this is the place for you.. Was everything i was looking for and more. Made my trip to Myrtle Beach an awesome vacation..
"great family vaca spot, our 25th anniversary resolution is to come here more often"
We were worried when we were having to wait a long time to check in late since we drove so far, because while we were waiting, a woman was complaining about the size of their room; however, we were pleasantly surprised with the large size of our ocean front king jacuzzi suite. This has been the best vacation ever, especially for our 25th anniversary. This might be the last time our whole immediate family is together since our oldest son is going into the usaf academy, so thanks for wonderful memories. The water slides are great, the Wed. night hula and fire show was good. The balcony views are phenomenal. The full kitchen makes it very affordable if you have a larger family and need to eat in more. One trip to a nearby Walmart when we first arrived and we've been able to eat healthier than if we were eating out all of the time. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we came closer to the end of the season where they've had time to work on repairing things. Also, we were in the 3rd tower on the 8th floor so we practically have the elevator all to ourselves. We've been spoiled big time this week and are so grateful. My favorite alltime feature, though, is the lazy man's river. Moms/ladies, just bring some old magazines to read and kick back and enjoy the the comforts of home without all of the work!;) We will definitely be coming back, even if we can only afford it every other year!;) We did not have housekeeping come in the whole week by calling the front desk and telling them when we needed things and keeping our privacy sign in our door. We'll be leaving in a couple of days and I'll try to give any updates if our opinion changes upon checking out.
"Better than I thought."
After reading all the nasty reviews I was scared. I had already booked over 6 months ago. We had a few bumps but they fixed everything! It Was clean nice room. Parking spaces are small. Breakfast was awesome. All the talk about the elevator and bugs where wrong from my stay. Elevatorsare slow because of the amamount of people. And I saw ONE that's right ONE bug and it was OUTSIDE on the balcony. Most of the people rating this place must be uppity! Liked it so much im going back the summer of 2015 :)
"the best hotel for the money"
I was hesitant about keeping my reservations after reading all these bad reviews.I am so glad that i did not cancel. My room was completely remodeled from front to back. The new water park is awesome, im pushing fifty and i was acting like a big kid.Loco geco was a great time and good food to match.Maybe it took a few extra minutes to check in and yeah maybe it took a couple of minutes on the elevator. But it beat the best day you could have at work. To all the people that just want to complain stop looking at the hotel and look at yourself. life is to short
"Very nice stay for a family of 5"
After reading some of the reviews we were scared to stay at this hotel. But we decided to just go with it and I'm glad we did!! We were a family of 5, we had 3 teenagers. We got the Ocean deluxe room with kitchen...Our room was very clean and very nice. Our kitchen was awesome and had everything we needed including a toaster. My husband and I slept on the pull down murphy bed and slept very well!! We never seen a cockroach!! We stayed in Tower 1 10th floor. We never had a problem with the elevator while we were there..sometimes it seemed a little slow but never waited more than 10 mins...We never had an issue with the internet either. The girls at check in were very friendly and they were very helpful.. The water slides were awesome! The pool was great and the lazy river was a good time! We hung out at the Loco Geko on 2 nights and the food was very good and so were the drinks! One night they had a Dj for a couple of hours and were sad to see him leave! Overall we had a great time and I would stay here again!! Also my parents had just a regular room a couple of doors down from us and their room was very clean and they also had no problems! I also forgot to mention that Housekeeping was Great! The women I spoke with were very nice and got us everything we needed! We never had a problem getting clean towels!
"Don't believe all the bad reviews..."
Had reservations and was almost scared away by all the terrible reviews that have been made. Checked on today which took 15 minutes or so, after all you must remember everyone comes at once. The room was perfectly fine. Updated nicely, the water amenities are exceptional for the price. It's not the ritz Carlton. But for the money it is definitely worth it. Truly a perfectly nice clean place to stay....people are way to nit picky. Come relax play and enjoy the stay and vacation
"Great family vaction"
If you're reading all the negative reviews and are looking for reasons to nitpick, I'm sure you can find things wrong with the resort. Honestly, the management knows what needs worked on and they are very willing to work with you to resolve any issues. We had a great family vacation here! Our room was nice, clean, with comfy beds, and a great Jacuzzi tub! The staff was friendly, very helpful, and very respectful. Our rooms were always clean, with extra towels. The pools and lazy river were great for relaxing. We had no problems with our wifi, or any other issues stated in all the negative reviews. We had the best family vacation we've had in the longest time! Great family friendly resort!
"Wonderful Vacation"
Aug 3rd---8th. Very comfortable rooms, clean and no bugs or critters of any sort. Pools were wonderful, clean, and enjoyed by our whole family. we had 3 pools to choose from and one was a heated pool trailing from indoor to outdoor. I had a really great vacation at the Crown Reef and look forward to next year.
"Great family beach vacation destination!"
My family enjoyed 4 days at the Crown Reef last week. The resort is right on the beach with all 514 rooms offering an amazing ocean view; with all the water amenities and scheduled events, there is plenty to do here! The water park is amazing and so worth a visit for the fun to be had by kids of all ages! As much as I loved the 575 foot lazy river, I simply could not get enough of the water slides. The food and service was fantastic too so I definitely recommend the Crown Reef for your next family beach vacation! We also loved parasailing at Downwind Sails next door.
"Great Stay! No complaints!"
After reading some reviews I was skeptical about going, but we are so glad we did. Check in on a Wednesday evening around 4pm was a breeze 10 min and we were on our way to our room, parking was fine, elevators worked great. The room was exactly like the pictures show on their website. We had a group of 8 and all slept as well as can be expected away from home. We did call down for towels one morning and missed the gentleman who brought them because we were on the balcony and did not hear him knock so we had to call back, that was not his fault at all. Being so close to the beach was great, the view from the balcony was beautiful. All staff was very nice, our housekeeper was great, she joked with the kids and took care of the room and made sure we were taken care of. We stayed in tower 2 on the 5th floor. I checked prices at other locations and The Crown Reef was comparable to others plus they had the wonderful pools and slides, all of the kids really enjoyed the water park area. It was a great stay.
"Great value, service, location"
Yes, I had read all the negative reviews prior to booking our vacation. However, we had stayed at the Crown Reef a few times prior to new ownership and we were curious. Plus our daughter was excited and really wanted to stay at the big purple hotel. I'm not sure about all the other reviews but I can say that the room has been re-done. The room was clean and comfortable. I am connected to the free wi-fi at this moment. Check-in was amazing - Chanda is a real customer service star! Everyone who works at the property has been very helpful and kind. There were no signs of construction anywhere other than a wet paint sign in the parking garage. The elevators do need to be updated and I hope that is on their to-do list. The pools, water slides and lazy river were all exactly as advertised. Then again, we were not expecting a 5 start hotel. We got a good, solid 3 to 4 start experience and the room rate for the amenties is excellent. Plus the rooms all have a balcony and the beach is a very short walk from the pool area. I was dreading this trip because if our experience was anywhere near as bad as others have described, I would have been very disappointed. This is the vacation we have looked forward to all year. No disappointment here! Our daughter is having a terrific time - and so are we.
"Summer vacation"
I was very skeptical because of the online reviews of this place, however this was the best hotel we have stayed at in all the years we've gone to myrtle beach. We will make sure to come back next year!! The only negative that I can say is, house keeping rushing us out on our last day there, but it wasn't a big deal!

Late Cancellation/No-Show Policy: Because Bluegreen Vacations subsidizes the cost of this vacation package in order to offer it to you at a discounted price, Bluegreen Vacations has instituted this Late Cancellation/No-Show Policy. Your scheduled check-in day may be modified at no charge only if the request is made AT LEAST FOURTEEN (14) DAYS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED CHECK-IN DATE. If your check-in date is modified less than fourteen (14) days prior to this check-in date, a $125.00 Late Cancellation Fee will be required. Participants with reservations who fail to show up on their scheduled check-in date, will have a $200.00 No-Show Fee charged to their debit card or credit card (dependent upon the method of payment used to purchase the vacation package), and will forfeit any prepaid fees or deposits. By making a reservation in response to this promotion, you are agreeing to this policy.

Cancellation Policy: Notwithstanding the foregoing or otherwise, you may cancel and request a refund at any time within thirty (30) days following the date that you purchased your vacation package, and the refund amount will be the purchase price of the vacation package less the retail value of any gift(s) and/or accommodations received. The cancellation must be in writing and mailed to BookVIP, Attn: BookVIP Cancellations, 975 North Miami Beach Blvd. 2nd Floor, North Miami Beach, FL 33162. Any cancellation made more than thirty (30) days after the purchase date will result in forfeiture of your vacation package purchase price.
