"Wonderful stay!"
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times with both my family and by myself. It's easy to get to, close to outlet shopping, and overall I've had very nice stays here. In fact, we will be staying here during the upcoming holidays and we are very much looking forward to it. The staff is always very pleasant and my experience is that they go above and beyond. I find that in reviews, you have to take many (even the good ones) with a grain of salt because not everyone has the same level of expectation and people are more apt to submit a bad review than a good one. I wanted to make sure that I made it known that we've always had a wonderful stay without a single complaint.
"Awesome hotel!"
This was the last of our hotels during my birthday celebration! And we definitely saved the best for last! I loved everything about CP! The price, location, ambiance, front desk staff and even the ducks wandering out front of the hotel was awesome! The rooms are very spacious. The beds were comfortable. The front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. I have stayed in a lot of hotels, but the front desk staff was the most courteous ever! You can't go wrong with this location. I will definitely stay again and gladly recommend to others!!!
"Good Hotel for Business Travel to North Charleston"
This is an excellent hotel for the business traveler to North Charleston. The location provides good access to major roads and is located near the airport; traffic was never a problem for me. It is also located across the street from a typical outlet mall which also has a variety of mid-line restaurants. Everything is a chain shop / restaurant so it is a far cry from downtown Charleston.
The hotel is fairly new and is a modern design. It is very well maintained and kept clean. The rooms are spotless and roomy; again, very well laid out for the business traveler or a couple but not as convenient for families with children. I only had the continental breakfast each day instead of the full hot breakfast. I found it more than adequate as it had things like fresh fruit and greek yogurt instead of prepackaged vendor items.
Overall, this is an excellent place to stay if you have business in North Charleston.
"Ahhhhh"
When traveling it's always a stresser putting my room key into the door for the first time and not knowing what to expect. With the Crown, I knew from the moment I walked in to the attractive lobby that the room was probably not going to disappoint and it didn't. Beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable! The staff were friendly and the hotel restaurant served up some delicious meals! Great location next to shopping and dining and easy access to downtown.
"Great place"
I booked this hotel last minute. What a gem. It is very modern and appealing to the eyes. The beds were so comfortable the staff was very friendly. We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Right around the corner is an ihop where we had a delicious breakfast with fabulous service. Our waiter Ramon was spectacular!!!! Plus all the shopping right there.
"Great place to stay"
I've stayed twice at this location for business. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The rooms are clean, spacious and have everything you need. On my last visit my wife travel with me and really enjoyed the Tanger Outlet Mall across the street while I was working. Even though the hotel is listed at the airport I've never heard any aircraft landing or taking off. They offer a very tasty hot and cold breakfast buffet. The lobby is very spacious with plenty of seating and offers a very nice and friendly bar. The hotel is close to a variety of restaurants, the Boeing facility and the airport.
"Great place to stay for a reasonable price."
Crowne Plaza was a wonderful experience. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was perfect as it is located across from Tanger Outlets and a variety of restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Luxury Class Hotel"
On our way to FLA, we stopped in Charleston for two nights. We booked the hotel on the road on an iPhone. The hotel was wonderful. I have travel often and consider this to be a luxury hotel. The lobby was modern, clean, and visually appealing. The staff were top notch. The rooms were significantly larger then typical hotel rooms. They included flat screen HD, huge bathroom, fridge and coffee maker. The hotel has a small restaurant and a bar in the hotel's center. The hotel is about 10 minutes north of historic Charleston. There are a variety of restaurants close by. I would highly recommend this hotel if your are looking for a reasonable price and luxury accommodations.
"Great stay and experience"
The hotel is older looking from the outside but not by much as I can tell you the inside is very nice. The hotel is even scheduling to update much of it. The front desk could not be more acccomodating and pleasant. The entire staff from housekeeping to the resturant waitress for breakfast were all very friendly. Took our two kids with us and they enjoyed the place as well as the pool. So all in all, I think this is a great spot and close to many things. As a platinum member with IHG I felt very welcome and anyone with the priority club can appreciate the bonus points here. I would definatly stay again.
"Very nice - a little different"
Nice hotel! I loved when I walked into the room it wasn't your "typical" hotel room setup. Staff was very polite - check in was smooth. Fitness center had many machines and free weights. Looks like the whole hotel was just updated. Noise does travel from the resturant/bar up towards the room. I could hear people laughing during the night. Can't get much closer to the hotel and there was a ton of places to eat and things to do around the hotel.
"Great experience"
The hotel is very nice. We stayed in a very spacious room that included a huge bathroom, couch, and mini fridge. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Tanger Outlets. The hotel is also located near several restaurants and not far from downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also went during a family reunion weekend and did not experience any issues.
"Fantastic find!"
I can't say enough about this hotel. My buddies and I were on our way home from a golf trip and had our flights cancelled. United gave us vouchers for the Crowne Plaza for the night. The free shuttle to the hotel was late, which dampened our moods, but the courtesy at the Front Desk and particularly from the Manager (sorry I forgot his name) who gave us a drink voucher immediately lifted our spirits. Our rooms were great - very spacious, clean and filled with modern amenities. Being on the tail end of our trip, we immediately went to the hotel bar, which itself was a great space with ample seating, to watch Sunday Night Baseball, and we were very pleased to find out that the bar was open until 2:00 a.m. and that dinner from the restaurant could be served at the bar (while we watched the game). The bartender was excellent, and the dinner was surprisingly good (I highly recommend the fried chicken). Despite the hotel being relatively full, there was no noise when we retired for the night. The hotel had no problem arranging for a super-early shuttle to the airport the next morning, which was on time. There was no hassle with the airline vouchers. In short, it was a classic case of lemonade out of lemons - what could have been an awful situation after a cancelled flight turned into a fun and restful extra night at a great hotel. Thanks very much Crowne Plaza!
"Best value for upscale room in Charleston."
Once again I had an amazing 2 night stay at this property. Corey and Matt address me by name every time I check in. Best service you will find. The bellman went out of his way to help me as well as the restaurant staff. Im usually a Mills House or downtown embassy suites guy, but you can not beat this property. Better rooms at a value rate. It's a $30 ride from downtown in a town car.
"Lovely"
My family and I enjoyed our weekend stay at the Crown Plaza - Charleston Airport. It's located in the perfect location across from the Tanger Outlet, lots of restaurants and less than a ten minute drive to downtown Charleston,
The staff was so friendly and helpful during our stay. They were sold out due to a family reunion and a class reunion ... sometimes that can mean poor service but not in this case. We received OUTSTANDING service all weekend long. I know they were beyond busy but they were always smiling and offering assistance or directions .. or just simplify making sure everything was okay with our stay.
I would love stay here again and will tell anyone traveling in the area about my awesome experience..
"All Inclusive"
This was a BEAUTIFUL hotel with everything you need for a week or weekend getaway. The hotel has a fantastic restaurant, lobby, bar, poolside lounge, and gym area and is within walking distance of the Tanger Outlet Mall, Wal Mart, and dozens of different restaurants and shops. We also visited the Charleston Aquarium which according to the GPS was 21 minutes from the hotel. Staff was courteous, friendly, helpful, and kind. The hostess upgraded us to an executive suite without being asked, the bar tender was hilarious and happily created drinks in plastic cups so we could take them to the pool with us, even the housekeeping staff obviously took extreme pride in their positions.
The rooms were beautiful with everything we needed for a few nights away. We are pretty spoiled with our bed at home, so I can't say our sleep quality was much improved, but the bed was very nice, and the pillows were soft. The bathroom was beautiful with a full glass shower.
We enjoyed the Hotels Sweet Grass restaurant each morning. Our server was the same both mornings and even remembered us. The buffet was excellent with many choices, hot and cold, sweet and savory. It was probably cleaner than my own kitchen at home. :-)
We liked the swanky and romantic atmosphere the lobby provided with private nooks to curl up in, chat, or even watch TV in.
The bar was beautiful. The pool was nice. It was extremely sufficient for a late-night swim with my husband and staff kindly turned a blind eye to how late we were there.
"Luxurious, affordable and comfortable!"
I stayed over the weekend for one night and I must say I was impressed by this hotel. The people who worked there and took care of us were extremely kind and patient. The hotel was SO clean. I am pretty picky when it comes to hotels and this was hands down one of my favorites. We originally came to the hotel for just a place to sleep (we got the deal on Hotwire's secret hotel deals). But after we arrived and saw the hotel, we decided to take our girl's night out to the hotel bar itself! It was just awesome all around. This is definitely great for couples on a romantic weekend, business, or just friends.
"Girls weekend"
This was my first stay at Crowne Plaza and I am delighted to recommend it to others. It was only about 12 minutes from downtown Charleston and much more affordable than hotels downtown. The rooms were clean, beautiful and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. This was a girl's weekend and being right beside the outlets was a plus. I definitely plan to stay at the Crowne Plaza on my next trip to Charleston, SC.
"What a fantastic surprise!"
We stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding in town. I booked it because it was reasonably priced and close to the wedding venue (Citadel). I was surprised at how nice it was for the price. It was very modern looking and the room was fantastic. It had a circular couch area a huge bed which I assume was cal king, a desk area with a mini fridge, flat screen tv, and a spacious bathroom! There was also nice little touches like aromatherapy sample pack on the bed and they offered free toiletries if you forgot them. The pool area was nice and had furniture with real cushions that were very comfortable. The lobby and bar area were very pretty. We did not have time to use the bar, restaurant, or gym but they seemed nice. I was also surprised to see how close the hotel is to the Tanger Outlets. You can literally park your car at the hotel and walk there. This place was very nice and at the same price as the Holiday Inn Express! I would absolutely stay here again for a longer stay!
"Lovely smaller hotel in great location"
I picked this hotel for my business trip stay in Charleston due to it's proximity to my work, it's prior reviews and the fact that it was a choice on my company's preferred hotel list. The prior reviewers were right! It's a nice hotel that is well kept and freshly renovated.
The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. No cheesy hotel stuff. There's even a couch with a handy swing over table perfect for using your computer while watching TV. The first thing I noticed upon entering the room is that the bathroom was on the far side of the room, the outside wall, rather than next to the door to the room. That's refreshing! Really nice tile floors and faux tile shower walls. Very spacious bathroom too. Flat screen TV, nice looking dresser with a room safe inside the top section.
Overall I definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
"DECENT"
The primary reason I chose this hotel is it's decent price,(comparing it to the different nearby chains of hotels) and when I stayed there last week, I was really pleased.
Close to the airport, of course and if you love to shop, the Tanger Mall
is just in front of the hotel-you can just walk over there.
The hotel is clean and the parking lot is the same. Our room in the 5th floor has a nice firm yet comfortable bed and the linens/towels are clean and seem new.
You really need a car to go to the historic downtown which is probably a 15-20 minute drive.
The hotel staff is nice and we have nothing bad to say, really...
The pool is small but also clean and so is the gym.
Oh, there is large duck in the parking lot that seems to be friendly to. Cute.
"BEAUTIFUL!"
Spent 5 days and nights here April 27 - May 1, 2013. The event was a class reunion and I was the event planner. I have gotten so many rave reviews (too many to list) for the hotel itself, the rooms, the food, the people working there. They all loved it. It is soooooooooo clean. The people are sooooooooooooooo nice - true Southern Hospitality! We had two dinner/dances (buffet style) and the food was excellent. Thank you so much, Angie Gibbs, Dianne Wagner, Hollydawn Channer for all your help ahead of time and during - you were great. A special thank you to Ronald & Jamiel (sp) - such gentlemen. Chef - you need to be on one of those cooking shows. You are so cute and can really cook. Again, Ladies and Gentlemen - on behalf of our group (Stingarees!) we say thank you and well done.
"Excellent perfect location"
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have never been disappointed. Staff was friendly and accommodating, bar food service great, food wonderful. I had issues with my room and had to change. The front desk helped with the move and delivered a cheese tray for my troubles.
"An example of how airport hotels should be!!! Awesome"
I have stayed at many airport hotels and this one just tops it all. It is modern, comfortable, great location, friendly staff. It is just how a hotel it should be especially nearby the airport.
Great shipping since it is right across the outlets. Walkable to many chain restaurants as well other that were privately owned. The lobby of the hotel is the nerve of meet and greet with a semi circular bar and lounge area.
I didn't go to the restaurant but by the looks it looked good.
The room itself is so comfortable, I didn't want to get out. The oversize lounge couch is picture perfect. The mini fridge is huge plus. The bathroom is just amazing. I can't describe how much I enjoyed staying at the hotel. However designed the rooms and the hotel has great taste.
I thought i was going to miss not being downtown, but it is only 15 minutes away and my stay was awesome.
