ESJ Azul

I've been going to Puerto Rico for over 30 years and ESJ Azul has given me a whole new look and feel for Puerto Rico. The first thing that struck me was the positive energy in this place, what an incredible and awesome experience! The staff treats you like family. From Oscar with his generosity and John with his kind heart, who felt like brothers. To Rico, with his kind words and Miguel greeting you like family. From the young man eager to hold the door for you to the owner(who did not announce it) Mr. St. Clare's down to earth and genuine nature. The beautiful renovations leave a very comforting ambiance that made me feel like I didn't want to leave! What a joy and pleasure my stay was! Thank to all at the Esj Azul in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico!

The hotel was renovating when I went to visit- they were on the holder side but clean and the staff was excellent. GREAT LOCATION! As soon as you step out there are multiple places to eat. Also right in front of the bus that takes you to Old San Juan.

I really enjoyed this hotel. All staff were pleasant and helpful beyond what you would expect. We did not stay in the rooms in the tower, we were actually in the suites away from the tower. Awesome experience, everything was very private and clean. The room consisted of two queen sized beds and a couch which converts to another bed. We had a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave with plates and cups to serve meals. The bathrooms were excellent-clean with a large walk in shower. Very, very nice. The facility was really nice, the pool was large, the hot tub not so much but it was always available when we returned in the evening. Having the Isla Verde beach easily accessible (right behind the pool) was great. You literally walk out the back gate and the beach is there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who may be interested in staying in Isla Verde. The hotel is close to most major highways so you can travel the island rather easily. I will definitely be back.

I just stayed here towards the end of July and I loved it! We stayed in the renovated rooms right by the pool area which were nice, modern, and up to date. The balcony was gorgeous and lead right to the pool area which I could not have enjoyed more. It was nice to have the option of the beach for the days I did not want to lay by the pool. The beach was great- the bar made amazing drinks and the hotel supplied each room with two free beach chairs! There's a bunch of restaurants around the hotel, a little market and cafe, and about a block away they had a beach front bar and grill called El Alambique which is reasonably priced and DELICIOUS!! If you didnt want to leave the hotel, they had a bar inside (10/10 drinks), a cafe with GREAT iced lattes, and a restaurant, too. I can't wait for my next visit here and now that my father, Big Lou, has bought into a timeshare there, I am very excited to go multiple times a year! Also, the staff was great and welcoming! If you ever have the chance to go, there's a place not too far called Pinones where you can get authentic Puerto Rican food. Highly recommended.

I've been traveling to Puerto Rico for over 20 years. On my latest trip to Puerto Rico I at the newly renovated ESJ Azul and would never stay anywhere else. The complex has something for everyone. It's located near everything. On Fridays they hold a live band, on Saturdays they have a live dj and on Sundays they have a live dj with karaoke and Just Dance. There is BINGO everyday by the pool where you could win free drinks, money and or food. There is a bar on the main lobby, by the pool and right outside the beach. I'm a clean freak and I must say that the rooms and complex are spotless. The pools and gym are very well kept as well. They have everything for everyone. I traveled with family of all ages and there was something for all of us, I'm in my 20's and the youngest person who came with us was 14 and the oldest are in their 50's and 60's. Everyone morning we were greeted with smiles and sheets and toiletries with more efficiency than expected. More so than being a clean place with lots of fun things to take advantage of is the bonds you make when you stay at Azul. I've traveled the world and never got first class treatment like this ANYWHERE else. Everyone and I mean everyone that works at Azul treats you like family, even calls you it. From the young man, Kevin excitingly calling out your long hard to pronounce last name before asking you how your morning is going and handing you a towel to Rico greeting you with a quick joke and his warm fun spirit. John who is always busy doing work but never too busy to talk with you ask how he could help and how you're doing because you're family to him. Or Miguel who is always there with a warm hug and good advice. I was truly touched when Albert gave me his deepest condolences and warm hug after he learned that a friend of mine had passed back home. I stayed at the Azul for two weeks and wish it had been longer and miss the place and the people who work there. I cannot wait to go back and bring all of my friends with me!
