We were part of a larger group (24 in total) and we couldn't have asked for a better setting for our Christmas get together.

"Home Away from Home"
My Brother, Dad, and I went to the Barcelo Puerto vallarta for a whole week. Barcelo felt like home, the hotel staff always greeted you with a smile and are supper kind to everyone. The activities where just so much fun to watch and join in. Fernando Lopez is one of the workers from the Activity center is one amazing guy! He Always has a smile on his face, He would ask "how your stay is going." My Dad and Fernando got along well they played Chess together and had my brother join all the activities. The shows every night where so much fun. I will for sure come back and stay at the Barcelo in the future.
"Clean, delicious food, good service"
Very clean and delicious food. Alcohol was decent not bad for being included. Enjoyed the night entertainment. Wish they would give more dinner reservation passes. My favorite part of the room was the large shower.
"Great Time at the Barcelo Puerto Vallarta and the beach at Mismaloya"
My Husband, Son and GF , and 3 of my gradeschool friends all met up for 4 days of fun!! Jan7-10 We booked thru Travelocity and had a premier 2 room suite We were on the 7th floor tower 2. Everything was very clean, and checkin and out was a breeze. THe Friends had reserved direct at hotel and had some issues with check in and out, but ended up with a "better " 9th floor room closer to the beach We ate at most of the Reservation restaurants and all agreed the Italian was by far superior in taste, service, and atmosphere. We did not eat at the Japanese one Bar had a great band on Saturday and Sunday nite and even Monday nite.. I don't remember Friday nite!! but I am sure it was good too!! We had a great time painting the ceramics, so much fun we did it 2 x.. Pools were great, Bar service was fantastic! a little slow, but our favorite server by pool and snack area was Oscar, but all did a great job. Mango Tangos, and lime daiquiris were great. and they had top shelf alcohol so we didn't have to compromise!! The Buffet is a buffet.. the food wasn't always as hot, as it should be but all was tasty especially the pobalno crema, prime rib, fresh fruit, and desserts

"Great resort with friendly and helpful staff"
My daughters and I stayed during the holidays and enjoyed the resort and amenities. The food was great and the staff were very attentive. Edwardo was especially accommodating during dinner and went above and beyond to meet our needs.
"Los Arcos Restaurant"
This restaurant had excellent food. The waiters and waitresses were so very kind and helpful. Angelica Fonseca and Ramon helped us with our meals each night. They were both so very courteous and helpful. They treated us as family.
"First visit to Puerto Vallarta"
Usually visiting the Mayan Riviera side of Mexico we were pleasantly surprised how much we loved the area. The Barcelo is tucked away from town and has a relaxed atmosphere. Even though it was the peak of holiday season the resort did not seem crowded. Our room had 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms which made us & our teenagers pretty comfy! Special thanks to the staff who went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of at dinner & around the pool! Thanks Ivan Estrada, Mr Professional! Thanks Giovanni Lesama, Mr Jokes a lot! Thanks Christian Torres for the Birthday cake! Thanks Dianna Torres for the best poolside drinks! Happy New Year!
"Hidden Gem"
My second getaway for 15 days to Barcelo at Mismaloya Beach was wonderful once again. The grounds are immaculate, food very good and service staff courteous and sincere. I especially enjoyed the Cantina Bar with live entertainment and dancing. Special thanks to Captain Marcos, waiters David and Don Raymond. However, my most favourite person at the resort was Argelia Fonseca at the speciality restaurant Don Quixote who made me feel like royalty.
"Great Christmas Getaway"
Just got back after an amazing week at the Barcelo Puerto Vallarta! Everything from the food to the staff were just perfect! Our room and premium club service was exceptional and I would have no problem recommending a stay at this resort. A big shout out to the entertainment staff especially Valerie for making our trip so much fun! And a special thank you to Ricardo in the Premium Club lounge for all of your assistance! Can't wait to come back!
"Great Vacation"
We visited the BPV from Dec. 23 to Dec. 30 I have stayed at Barcelo resorts before and they are all pretty consistent. The food was great. The a la cartes were good with the Spanish one being the best because of the tapas. The service and friendliness of the staff is excellent. The resort is fairly small and it is the only one in the bay so you cant really walk anywhere. The beach is fairly narrow so if beaches are really important to you, you may not like it. We stayed in the club premium so we had access to the premium lounge and a larger room. The premium lounge is nice but at other Barcelos they overlook the ocean which this one did not. The room was very nice however the mattress was terrible. It had a divot on each side which could only have been caused by a large walrus living in the room for many months. It definitely needed to be replaced sooner. This would be a very good resort for families or adults who are ok with lots of kids around. It was a good vacation with no problems and if I found a great price, I would go back.
"Barcelo was great!!"
We loved Barcelo! This was our 1st time staying at a Barcelo resort, but we will stay at others now. Of all the all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at, this Barcelo has the best food of any of them. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Very clean. Our 3 boys loved the scuba at the pool. Only complaint was drink service around the pool was a little slow. Very glad we chose this resort for our family vacation.
"Magical Christmas holiday"
We had a fantastic Christmas holiday with our three adult children. The hotel was fantastic, every request was met and exceeded. The rooms were spacious, ample room for 3 young adults, 2 girls, one boy, to share space. The grounds and pools were beautiful, the food was plentiful and delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel and highly recommended! Hospitality is off the charts!! Please find OSCAR MARTINEZ in the restaurants. He is outstanding and served us during all our meals. Fantastic waiter and makes sure everything is perfect!! We will be returning to this incredible resort!!
"Superb resort and service!"
First of all, I don't normally write reviews, so the fact I am doing so the day after returning from holiday here should say something. I came here with my wife and 6 year old daughter in mid December, spending Xmas here as well. Overall, we had an amazing holiday in Puerto Vallarta, thanks to the great time we had at Barcelo. The service and warmth of the staff here was simply out of this world, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. For families, this place is great. There was a kids club and kids pool (where my daughter spent most of her time), but even the nighttime entertainment is suitable for kids, with many of the kids playing together at the front every evening. By the way, the Michael Jackson impersonator they had was amazing! Only one small point of recommendation for the hotel, and that is to have designated smoking areas by the pool deckside, as sometimes we had smokers sat next to us, and had to move away. For young adults seeking fun and nightlife, there are probably better places, located closer to the town centre. Also, the entertainment team really went out of their way to create a great Xmas atmosphere with all of the different activities taking place throughout the day, including Santa arriving on a speedboat on Dec 25th, and giving out presents to all the kids! The food was great as well (considering this is an all-inclusive), with a really good selection of different restaurants and buffets to choose from. Definitely had the best tacos in my life here! The only small negative here was the Italian restaurant (Capri), where even the basics (carbonara pasta, margarita pizza, and beef) were sub-standard. We did talk to the restaurant manager about this, and he was aware, due to chef issues. Hopefully they can sort this out soon. We would definitely come back to this place again!
"Fantastic!"
My friends and I stayed here in mid-December of 2016. From the second we arrived until the moment we left the gates, this hotel was fantastic. The staff made us feel welcome and were incredibly attentive. Felix and Edgar were our favourite bartenders! They took the time to get to know our names and always remembered our favourite drinks. David M. one of the servers in the buffet area, was fantastic. He always looks like he is rushing, but he never forgets your requests and is so kind. The rooms and pool were always impeccably clean, and I am happy to recommend the hotel to others in the future. One small note: this hotel is family oriented, and a fair distance from downtown Vallarta (but very easy to access via bus or taxi). As three ladies in their early 20's, it was a little too far from the nightlife for our liking.
"Great place to unwind & relax"
Hotel is situated directly on the beach. Rooms have great views of the ocean and pool areas. Rooms are huge ( easy to entertain groups of people ). Beds are very comfortable. Each room comes with its own private balcony. The food was very good. For evening dinners would definitely check out the steak house (Los Arcos) The buffet offered a wide variety of Mexican and western foods. You will not go hungry!! ( gluten free options are available ) The staff are fantastic. Extremely friendly and super helpful. They will definitely do everything they can to make your trip the best possible! Shout out to Eduardo ( my favourite bartender ), Iban ( who was our head waiter on a couple of dinners ), Hans Gruber ( the man in charge of the restaurants ) and the many other ladies and men who always greeted us with smile. There really is no downside to this resort. Hope to back some day!!
"Excellent service"
We started Dec 16-23 and had a very relaxing, fabulous time. Room was beautiful, large and very clean. Beach is small and doesn't get sun until the afternoon. I was a bit disappointed at first but grew to love the beach - big waves and great swimming and never crowded. I always started day with 7am swim when beach deserted. A huge shout out to Eduardo who made us feel special at every dinner. He was fun and a real class act!
"stayed Dec 2016 with family"
excellent hotel and services. The beach is a little smaller( compared to barcelo cancun) but it's clean. People are very friendly and my daughter enjoyed the pool a lot. They have games every day and shows in the evening. The shows are ok. Many excersions are available. We did snorkeling near los arcos and it was good.. it's only 10 min away from the hotel by boat. Lots of private vendors offer snorkeling at the beach.. I guess they are ok.. and budget... but we took the tour from our operator costs us $90 usd per person.
"Very Nice place, I loved the away from it all feeling."
I liked the Hotel right away. The check in was fast and the room was much larger than I anticipated. I had a nice view of the pool areas and the beach from my balcony. The beach was small but how much beach does one need anyhow? the food was always good and the staff was always helpful. If you have to buy souvenirs the hotel shops were much cheaper (by a lot) than going downtown. We ate at all the Specialty restaurants with the Italian themed being the best. The buffet was good and the snack bar with the Tacos and Pizzas were excellent. One of your staff at the snack bar went out of their way to get my wife a cold fruit salad plate after a long day on the sea. All we had to do was ask. Great place.
"Hidden all inclusive getaway"
Arrived with 13 family members. I really enjoyed the rooms. We payed for the premium package that gets you 24 hr room service on select items . A bigger suite 2 bed rooms 2 baths. Also got a exclusive room that had snacks , computers and unlimited beverages. This was all for an extra $US dollars per room. I think it was very worth it . There are 4 restaurants , sushi , steak house, Spanish & Italian. I didn't really like any of the restaurants besides the sushi. The steak was tough and the rest of the food was ok. I enjoyed the buffet there was not a lot of choices food wise but the food was seasoned very well . I really liked the pools and assess to the beach . I liked how the hotel is less tourist like...smaller . Every room faces the water , there are no back rooms that have a different view. I views are excellent ! The mountains are in the back and the Ocean in the front . This hotel is 20 minutes away from down town Puerto Vallarta and thirty minutes from the airport . I would love to come here again The down sides are if you are here for excursions this is probably the wrong place for you .
