"Great value for money"
Stayed for 2 nights and we were pleasantly surprised. For a reasonably low priced hotel, we managed 5 of us in the room with no problems. Lots of good amenities very close by, including supermarkets and eating locations. Would book again when back in Charleston.
"Great Place!"
This hotel is the perfect place to stay if visiting the area. Easy access to downtown Charleston and Shem Creek, Isle of the Palms, and Sullivan's Island. Numerous shops and restaurants in close proximity. Clean and quiet with great complimentary breakfast including eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, fruit, and breads to toast! Very friendly staff besides a few housekeepers and breakfast attendants, but they seemed to be very busy so not a big deal. Overall great hotel!
"Nice, convenient stay."
Hotel was clean. Wendy H. at the front desk was extremely helpful with everything from getting more wash cloths to explaining different things to do in the city. Was very convenient to Charleston w/o the $$$$$. Will def stay again.
"Friendly staff"
Southern hospitality is the first thing that comes to my mind. The staff here is very competent and seems to be very happy here. That makes a huge difference in customer service. We were here a couple of days pre and post a holiday cruise. The location was in close proximity to the port and the snooze and cruise offer suited us fine. The rooms and property are very clean and well-appointed. So glad we chose to stay here! Notables: Danielle and Angel at the reception desk. Ashley in the restaurant/bar.
"Great Place to stay close to local attractions"
I checked in the Holiday Inn Express and it was so clean and the staff was incredible. They had hot tea, coffee and fresh water made in the lobby and their breakfast that was included in the rate was excellent. Every thing was hot and fresh.
"great hotel and location"
loved my 2 nights in this hotel, wish i could have stayed longer and will certainly come back if i visit charleston again. Mt Pleasant is a good location if you have a car, easy to drive into town and plenty of places to visit in this area
"Wonderful Customer Service!"
I recently took a group to view the Mepkin Abbey Creche Festival in Moncks Corner, SC and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Tyler and Wendy were our front desk hostesses and did an outstanding job of help me cancel a room, make dinner reservations and print out directions to my evening destinations. I could tell that they liked going above and beyond to make a worn-out group of travelers as comfortable as possible. They defined "Southern Hospitality"! The hotel was a great location with easy and quick access to the Charleston downtown and surrounding islands.
"Good hotel with a very convenient location"
Let me preface by saying I used to live in Charleston, and know the area well.
I stayed here for 4 nights for a business trip and needed a large block of rooms. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs throughout the process of reserving rooms, getting attendees to their rooms, and checking everyone out.
In addition we required the use of their meeting space. The meeting space was set up perfectly before we arrived, and the staff was very helpful in making it available for our use early to set up for our seminar.
The location is 2 lights off the Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant, SC. It is very convenient to downtown Charleston (10-15 minute drive), Sullivan's Island (10 minute drive), and Charleston Airport (15-20 minute drive).
Across the street there is a Harris Teeter if you need groceries, or Melvin's BBQ and Sticky Fingers restaurants.
The rooms were very clean. I was on the 3rd floor and slept soundly on the King bed every night I was there. The wifi worked perfectly, and did not require you to re-log in every 24-hours as some do.
The breakfast in the morning is very good as well, with plenty of options to eat. From cinnamon buns to biscuits and gravy, or just cereal, they have a very good breakfast set-up.
All in all, this is a very good hotel that won't cost you an arm and a leg like downtown hotels. If you're already renting a car for your trip in Charleston, save yourself a little money on where you're staying and stay off the Peninsula in Mt. Pleasant.
"Great place..."
Lovely place wouldn't mind staying again.. very friendly people. Beds are nice and comfortable, housekeepers are very nice coming back again in the summer and I will be bringing my family along. This hotel has made me feel right at home
"Great hotel, great vacation"
From the moment we checked-in (with Reagan, Front Desk Manager, who apart from being very efficient, friendly, and a hard worker), checked our room, breakfast, we were impressed with the hotel. Beds comfortable. Bathroom large and clean. Good WiFi. Breakfast both food, and people who worked the Dining Room was good. Varied and tasty. Our best impression was indeed provided by Reagan, the Front Desk Manager, who worked double shifts as they were short staffed, and despite the hours she worked, she was cheerful, helpful, and friendly. Was a good vacation!
"Good stay!"
Comfortable beds, good wifi, friendly staff & all the expected amenities. It took awhile to figure out driving in Mount Pleasant which had no bearing on the hotel....just a warning to future visitors.
"Very Accomodating"
Due to the threat of a hurricane, my stay was only one of two planned nights. Check-in was easy, friendly and efficient. I was allowed to keep my bicycle in my room rather than lock it outside (although the area is very nice and apparently safe). My room was very clean and updated, offering all the amenities one would expect. I asked for advice on a "locals" bar that has seafood and is on the water, and I was steered to the perfect place, resulting in some nice conversations with other visitors to the area. I was able to get a short (12 mile) bike ride around the area before the weather turned ugly, and exploring the area, including Patriots Point, was very nice. I'm just disappointed that I was not able to ride across the bridge and explore Charleston the next day. However, considering the city flooded the next day I'm happy that I was able to get out in time. Since I was not able to see the area as expected, it's already on my return list and I'll likely stay here again.
"Great stay!"
Just a one night stay at this property but would stay again. The property is close to downtown but not within walking distance. Our room was fresh, clean and comfortable. The grounds were nicely maintained as I strolled through the courtyard to view the pool. It was a rainy day so we did not use the pool but ever so nice. Staff was polite and friendly.
"Very Nice Hotel"
The hotel is located close to Patriot's Point and just across the bridge from Charleston. It appears to be fairly new and is surrounded my mature landscaping, The outdoor pool is attractively set among the trees with a nice quiet patio near by. The front staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bed comfortable though my husband thought it was too soft. It has a standard Holiday Inn breakfast that was kept well stocked. The hotel has a recycling center which I liked. The one negative was the lack of water pressure in the shower. I'm sure it was to save water but having long hair, I had to stand under it three times as long to get the shampoo out. Only one restaurant was within walking distance but there were several within a two mile radius.
"Great location"
This hotel is in a great location! Just go across the bridge and your are in downtown Charleston! The hotel itself is close to restaurants and attractions. Breakfast was good. The hallways smelled a little funny and the room was either hot or cold. However, we would definitely stand here again!
"very good"
Room was very nice. Reserved for my daughter. They kept the room for late arrival. The breakfast was reportedly fine. This is a typically better than average hotel, as you usually find with Holiday Inn.
"Free parking and wifi. Close to downtown Charleston and patriots point. Very reasonably priced!"
The front desk staff were very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved that we got a much better deal by staying in Mt. Pleasant, but were just minutes from downtown Charleston and Patriots Point. We even found some great eateries in the Mt. Pleasant area along with grocery stores and gas stations. Would definitely return! Free parking and wifi!!!!
"Very comfortable and quiet"
We selected this hotel based on the other Trip advisor reviews and it was an excellent choice. It was comfortable and quiet and there were plenty of choices for breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting Pilgrims Pointe and some of the plantations and only a short drive from historic downtown Charleston.
"Great Choice"
This is a great place to stay. My Pleasant is a great choice if visiting Charleston. This hotel is a short, easy drive over the Arthur J Ravenel Bridge (which is an awesome bridge) into downtown, historic Charleston. It is also convenient access to the beaches, Shem Creek and there are many great restaurants and other attractions in Mt Pleasant. Check in was fast and they allowed check in although we were over an hour early. The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and beds are really comfortable with soft and firm pillows. We had a room on the fourth floor at the end overlooking the pool and there was no noise whatsoever, it was so quiet. Breakfast was above average. Free parking. Free WiFi. It would be good if there was drinking water available in the foyer.
"Great Place to stay if you are visiting Charleston"
We were travelling with my family and found this hotel through a deal on Bookvip.com. We got the deal at the Holiday Inn Express and were overwhelmed with the hospitality, location, room, pool and breakfast. The hotel is new and clean. There is a great little lunch/dinner place next door. For runners it is great as you can run to the bridge into Charleston. It is just a quick drive into the heart of Charleston without paying the downtown Charleston prices. Our kids loved the hotel as did we! Great breakfast too and staff. Well done Holiday Inn Express...we will be back!
"Nice, Comfortable Place"
Just recently stayed here for two nights. We were not in the hotel much but the time we were there, it was very nice and comfortable. Beds were really comfortable. Had refrigerator (built in to cabinet) and microwave. Hotel was quite full of guests. Has a nice, private pool and free WiFi. Breakfast was pretty good with selection of hot items (eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, waffles, etc.) as well as cold items (cereal, muffins, fruit, etc.). Iron in room (104) was not up to par. It leaked then spotted clothes while trying to use. We will stay here again in the future.
"Nice place"
While doing work in SC for a few weeks we had the pleasure of staying here. I can tell you that everything was perfect everyday. The room, people, and food. Everything was clean and we enjoyed the pool and a few cocktails in the afternoon!! I do have to say breakfast was always yummy!
Thanks everyone
"Pleasant surprise"
On an east coast USA road trip. My husband booked a Holiday Inn in Washington DC and we are pleasantly surprised by it. He booked another in South Carolina and again, it didn't disappoint.
The room was clean and large. The location was great; right next to a store and other amenities. It's also not far from the centre of Charleston, just across the bridge.
All night pancakes were good. The fridge and microwave in the room were handy. And the pool was nice.
My only criticism was our room didn't have a safe. But still 5 stars. We were only there for 2 nights but it was a good 2 nights.
"Stay here while visiting Charlestown, SC"
This hotel is just across the bridge from Charlestown and if you want to tour Patriot's Point and see the air craft carrier, battleship, and submarine this is much more convenient since this is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. You can also catch the ferry to Ft. Sumtner from Patriot's Point. The hotel is an upscale Holiday Inn Express. Nicely appointed lobby, breakfast area and rooms and very clean. We changed hotels and spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Charlestown. Next trip we would stay only at the one in Mt. Pleasant. It is newer, the rooms are larger and better appointed. It is a smaller hotel and the breakfast area is much nicer - less congested and better appointed. It is also close to Schem's Creek which has many nice seafoof restaurants and gives you a taste of the SC Low Country.
"VERY Nice...all around"
Clean...Quiet...Friendly...and just mins from downtown Charleston...plenty to eat...see...and do.....this is nice slightly out of way without being directly in Charleston....would stay again for sure and enjoyed smoking area for nightly stogie!
"Convenient Location"
On the way back south, stopped here with the intention of visiting Charleston. The location of this hotel was ideal and we found Mt. Pleasant had so many attractions and places to dine, we never made it to Charleston. The front desk staff was extremely helpful in recommending dining and even gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at the restaurant they recommended. That restaurant gave us such large portions, we brought back the excess, stored it in the room fridge, and after touring Ft Sumter the next morning, came back to the hotel and ate our leftovers in the little tree shaded patio by the pool. The fountains into the pool provided some nice running water background noise to our quick outdoor lunch and then we proceeded on to visit Boone Plantation.
