We just finished a week vacation at the Grand Sirenis. We booked through BookVIP and I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the entire trip, all the way from booking through the conclusion of the trip. We got a phenomenal deal and had an excellent trip!

    "Perfect Location for Sightseeing"
This hotel is on the corner of Meeting Street and Wolfe Street at one end of the FREE tourist trolley line. This location is extremely convenient whether you want to walk or catch a ride to all of the tourist locations in Historic Charleston. We typically walked to our destination (including the Fort Sumter boat dock) in a leisurely 15 minutes or so, and sometimes took the trolley back. The stop is directly outside the hotel's front entrance. Couldn't be easier. The hotel is extremely clean, the restaurant and bar staff are wonderful. There are lots of restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk as well. We found the valet charge of $16.00/day not unreasonable for the convenience. We parked the car and didn't need it again until we left the hotel. That's how easy it is to get around. The pool is a nice feature --- not large, but large enough to cool off after a long hot day of walking.
"Within easy walking distance of King Street shopping"
Hotel is very upscale and nice. Room was clean and comfortable however no microwave. All staff were very friendly and helpful with visitor information. Dining area was also very nice. Parking is by valet only and a little expensive. Hotel is located within an easy walking distance from King street were all of the shopping is. Only con is no Continental breakfast is available.
    "Not your typical Holiday Inn"
We had the Corner Suite on the 5th floor and the room was awesome. Lots of space and well appointed. Had a great view of the sunrise out over the harbor. The location is exactly perfect but not far from attractions. As with just about any place in Charleston, parking is an issue but the valet service was great.
"This hotel is a very good choice for travel to Charleston"
I have stayed at this hotel twice in 2015 (both for business). I really like the modern styling both in the rooms and common areas. The hotel is relatively new and clean. The staff both times were very friendly and helpful, including the guys doing the valet parking. They have a nice bar. Even though it's on a busy street (Meeting) you don't hear any road noise even if your room fronts the street. This hotel is in a section of town where there is a mix between new/redevelopment and some run down empty lots. That's not an issue for me. The location is great for a few reasons - 1) it's an easy couple blocks over to a lot of shopping and restaurant/bar options on King St., and 2) nearby access to I-26 and Hwy 17 so if you are doing anything outside downtown it's quick and easy to get around. This was the case for me as I needed to get back up to N. Charleston but still wanted to stay down more in the city. Also the price is pretty reasonable (at least my corporate rate is) for the quality and location. All that said, if you are in Charleston for site seeing in the older, more historical parts of town and plan to just get to your hotel and want to be close to everything so you can walk everywhere you can probably do better than this hotel - including historic inns. It's just far enough north of the core tourist areas that for many people walking would probably be prohibitive. Though you can easily get a taxi. But all in all, this hotel makes for a very good choice for a lot of different purposes when coming to Charleston. I will happily stay here again when in Charleston.
    "love carleton"
This hotel is great. It's very nice and clean, has superb amenities, and is in a great location within walking distance of all the awesome bars and restaurants in downtown Charleston. The staff are very friendly and physically attractive. I was incredulous at how good the breakfast was, one of the best I've ever had. This isn't your typical sad-o continental "breakfast," ohhhh no. Props to the chef who came and talked to us, I think his name was Caleb. Those grits were a buttery symphony of tastacular explosions. 10/10 would stay at again.
"Our favorite place to stay in Charleston"
This is where we stay when we frequently visit Charleston. The location is terrific and the cost is much more reasonable than the more central hotels. There is a free shuttle right across the street from this hotel that will get you anywhere in town you would like to go. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff has got to be the friendliest in town. Chef Caleb makes the best breakfast in town, be sure to ask for the local stone ground gritts. We have had other meals here as well and we were always well pleased.
    "Pleasant and knowledgeable staff"
Sabrina was so polite, witty, and just all together a delight to talk to. She informed my wife and I about upcoming events in town. She also recommended The Five loaves restaurant down the street for lunch which was the best find for the price since we started traveling. We had a great experience!
    "Nice hotel"
Stayed here for five days during a basketball tournament. Great location two blocks away from King Street (food and bars). Trolly is right across the street very easy to catch. Was upgraded to a nice suite. Felt safe even though a lot of homeless people are lurking around across the street. You must have a key to access the property after 9pm.
    "Great place to stay"
We stayed here for two nights in late November. The hotel is extremely convenient. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. King and Meeting streets flank it, which is where everything is on. The staff is very friendly and they do what they can to make your stay to your liking. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. There was a wedding at the hotel and it was surprisingly quiet all things considered. I will stay here again next time we come to Chuck Town.
    "Overnight in Charleston"
Just as expected for a Holiday Inn. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The turn down service was a pleasant surprise. I only gave it 4 stars because the valet parking was too expensive at $16 per car. Location was within walking distance of all bars and restaurants.
    "Great Leisure Stay Downtown"
Gold Elite/InterContinental Ambassador in town visiting family and friends with my girlfriend. Although slightly outside the main downtown area, everything is still walkable. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent --- front desk staff, valet, etc. Rooms are what you expect from a Holiday Inn but the cost matches the experience. BOTTOM LINE: Would stay here again if needed. Although cost isn't really a thing for us when visiting Charleston, all of our primary options were booked as it was a last minute trip. Good for couples/groups on a budget.
    "Perfect stay for our family"
We could not have asked for better service and overall friendliness from a hotel. The location is great for enjoying all that downtown Charleston has to offer. The staff went above and beyond to answer questions and give tips on best places to eat and enjoy the city. And the food in the restaurant was delicious. We ate there the first night because we arrived later than expected and were simply too tired to go out. The weekend breakfast buffet was also great with waffle station, omelet and eggs station, and plenty of everything else. The staff recommended a delicious ice cream shop on King as well as several restaurants we enjoyed before leaving town. Even the valet guys had some great tips on how to get around and what not to miss. Southern hospitality at its best. Overall an excellent experience and we will definitely return.
    "Love Charleston!"
Charleston is one of my favorite destinations so it's hard to be able to say anything bad about this town. The Holiday Inn was a great location for me. Room was terrific -- kind bed super comfy; clean. Fridge, coffee maker, safe in room was nice. I'm an avid cyclist, and the bellmen were very accommodating allowing me back of house in garage to get my bike in and out of car as many times as needed.
"New hotel in a nice location with pleasant staff"
We enjoyed our three-night stay here. There was a bit of a mixup with our getting a room but everyone was quite apologetic and did their best to make up for the mistake. The second night they moved us to a larger room that was a corner suite. This room had a dining table, living room area and a separate bedroom. It was quite large and a nice space. The location on meeting Street made it easy to go to restaurants and enjoy this thriving area of Charleston away from the Historic old town area. Charleston has a free shuttle that will drop you off right in front of the hotel. It is also easy to pick up a few blocks away and allows one easy access do the touristy spots on the peninsula. We will stay here again next time we are in Charleston.
    "Best stay ever"
This is the best Express I have ever stayed at. Very friendly employees, extra clean rooms. I was very excited that a trolley picked up in front of the hotel to carry us to the market area. The only thing negative was the attitude of the trolley drivers. I would not hesitate to stay at this location in the future...
    "Clean and quiet, good location"
The room was well-appointed and clean and the all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was typical hotel fare; very average. There's also a full bar in the afternoon/evening--very friendly bartender. Parking is pricey ($22 for valet, or $15 self-park). Very well located by the historic district.
"There is reason for the Excellent rating."
Sure I have stayed in more fancy hotels, plenty of them. I have stayed in much more expensive hotels, plenty of them. But this Holiday Inn was perfect for what it was and where it is in Charleston. Comfortable room, clean, modern. Nice lobby, nice little restaurant with an included breakfast. The price was reasonable. Easy walk to everything. We walked to the Battery from there and back which is a pleasant way to go through the historic district and be "looky loos".
"Great spot for a base in Charleston."
Spent 4 nights here, and although it is not cheap , it was worth it to be so close to the main attractions of Charleston. Because of its location parking is a problem, there are lots of "lots" around, but I preferred the valet parking at $ 16"/ day - it was not as bad a hassle as I thought it would be. We had room 352, a corner room at the far end of the hotel and it was a nice bright room, with windows on 2 walls. Room was quite large with 2 queen sized beds( soft), a desk, a dresser, a comfy chair, AC, free wifi, a fridge, safety box and a small wardrobe near the door. All in all a very nice room. The toilet was large with a vanity area with a hair drier, a toilet and a bath shower. Breakfast was in the dining room on the ground floor. Food was good, service OK. Would I come back - certainly, due to its location.
"Convenient Location. Free City Trolley Stopped Just Across the Street"
Friendly helpful staff. Welcomed with bottled waters and IHG bonus points. Upgraded to nice king balconied room with chaise lounge, mini-fridge, walk-in shower, but no tub. Unclean shower grout. No free parking, but top notch bellmen always placed our vehicle exactly where we wanted it in the garage. The room was quiet; the bed comfortable; the breakfast good. Walked and/or rode the free city trolley to downtown, restaurants, grocery store, attractions and back to hotel. Nice second floor fitness center, library and outdoor pool.
    "Hurricane Slurricane"
Recently, the wedding party I was a part of got to know this Holiday Inn quite well after being there over the recent hurricane that came through. The staff were fantastic in keeping spirits high, going to great lengths to accommodate guests and those seeking shelter after surrounding business shuttered, and taking great care of the property and rooms. The GM Don is fantastic. And the kitchen staff performed above any expectation I rightfully had in the scenario. Truly indicative of what one can expect on a sunny Charleston day.
"Great location and cheaper than other places"
Wonderful hotel, very clean and convenient. About a block further than the other downtown Charleston hotels but you save a lot of money by walking that extra block. Have been here many times, has been re done since my last visit and was very nice. Great staff
    "Great staff"
Friendly and thoughtful staff (John, Ben Danielle and Sarah) throughout our stay, made our visit special. The superb location close to all the city attractions made walking an easy pleasure. And one block away is King Street which offers award-winning restaurants with creative cuisine and presentation in equally innovative surroundings. Charleston is a great city for walking, tours and wonderful food.
