Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort & Spa

This was the best vacation of my life. The service and amenities were impeccable. From the bell hop staff to the bartenders, servers and especially entertainers- I was never disappointed. Speedy, Romeo and Julio were fantastic entertainers and really went out of their way to preform. Micky and Julio were always pleased to greet us and help with luggage and transportation all week. Reyna and Alberto offered amazing service to us on the VIP beach all week, catering to our every need. I am so grateful for an incredible week at this wonderful resort. Can't wait to be back!!!

3rd time back to the resort and it won't be the last. I had the time of my life and I owe it all to the animation team! I spent the week in a villa with a private pool but did not go in it once. My entire time was spent at the tropical pool where the animation staff made my day every day, and I'll always keep coming back for more. Every morning was spent watching Romeo, Julio, and Mosquito lead the water aerobics by the pool which was not a bad view at all. They are excellent entertainers and know how to get the people going. I signed up for every pool activity and made sure to participate in everything that I could. (Bartending lessons, bowling, olympic games, and more!) The VIP Parties were excellent, and the men in the glitter were fabulous at the party by the VIP pool. The Sunday night welcome party made the entire trip. I loved the foam party and danced the night away after feasting at the amazing buffet. Special thanks to Mosquito, Lenny, Ms Kitty, Juilo the Rock, Pablo Picasso and of course Romeo. Also thanks to Nelson (Haciel) for making me my favorite drinks every morning as soon as I got to the bar, and putting a smile on my face, as well as Jorje for saving my chair every morning by the pool and making me an awesome Dominican CD! You guys are amazing, and will be friends for a lifetime. I will never forget any of you, and the memories you gave me on the trip. Thank you for everything, and making this trip one to remember. I can't wait to see you again! You guys can put a smile on anyone's face and I hope you are recognized. Romeo- I owe it all to you. You are very special and will never be forgotten. Thanks for making my experience at the tropical amazing.

Always clean friendly and amazing. New on site beautiful work out gym spa was wonderful.cant say enough about everyworker there all pool guys .are respectful.but make you feel so welcome.john cena.mosquito.the rock.kiki.always a great time.was there march 9th to the16th.cant wait to go back.......

After reading reviews claiming you need VIP to make the most of this, we went along thinking we were going to upgrade to VIP when we got there. However, when we asked about this, we were directed to one of the several "tour guides" who would not tell us how much to upgrade to VIP, but rather wanted to take us on a tour the following day. Through talking to someone else who had been on the tour, we realized that you can't upgrade to VIP - you have to buy a membership - basically would have been like a typical time share presentation. So we did not do the presentation or the upgrade. Well, the good news is that we didn't feel at all like without the VIP access we were missing out. Sure, there were a few areas with cabanas that were part of the "VIP beach," and supposedly some restaurants we couldn't go to for dinner, but there is PLENTY we did have access to, including beach, pools, a nightclub, shows, and several restaurants/bars. We felt there was more than enough to do for a week, and we had a great time. The entertainment crew at the pool was great. Papi, Lenny, Julio, Mosquito, and the rest of the entertainers were friendly, interactive, and - well - entertaining. Kitti was my favorite - she was so sweet, nice, and genuine. (Kitti, ahora te extrao y tus mentiras!) When we tried the other pools in the complex (Confresi), we ended up back at Tropical because it just felt like more was happening there. The spa was one of our favorite parts of the resort. We got great massages the first day and then because of that purchase had access the rest of the week to the spa. We went to the hot tub every day, and enjoyed the steam room and sauna as well. A very peaceful setting. The food was alright, with some of the dinners at night actually very good. The Brazilian rodizio in particular was very impressive. We would absolutely recommend the Tropical. What a great value vacation for a relatively small amount of money.

The best thing at this resort is the entertainment at the pool. Romeo, Lenny, Julio, Pablo, and Mosquito know how to make your vacation a blast! They're friendly, funny, and great dancers!

As soon as we stepped foot in there we had such a great time, the food was great. The staff was really friendly everyone was always trying to be helpful to us and answered all our questions. And last but not least THE ENTERTAINERS they were the best! Pablo Picasso, Julio The rock, Romeo, Mosquito, Lenny kravitz had us laughing the whole time and a whole bunch of activities they are so fun ! I even got my workout done just following them lol! Def would recommend this resort because you will not get bored and will have the time of your life! Thank You guys!!

This was my first time in a resort in the dominican republic and I had a fantastic holiday there. The entertainment at the pool was breathtaking. I want to say "Thank you" to my absolutely favorite one : " LENNY KRAVITZ". He kept me in a good mood for the whole time, always having a smile in his face and a good joke on the lips. Every time he saw me he took out time for a talk and made me laugh. I really enjoyed meeting him. Also thank you to the rest of the team: Julio the rock, Mosquito, Papi, Pablo Picasso and Miss Kitty. All of you were so sociable and welcoming. The resort was amazing from the beautiful beaches to the pool, the food in the restaurant, just everything. All my credits go to the sweet entertainment team, especially LENNY KRAVITZ !!! It was worth every penny. Hope to see you all again soon!

My friend and I went on a vacation for spur of the moment, GREAT PRICED getaway and were pleasantly surprised but how AWESOME it was!! This resort was really geared to people who want to have a GOOD TIME! We loved all the shows and entertainment! During the day we were by the pool and the staff really made sure you enjoyed your time there!! Especially Julio the rock!! He was so nice and outgoing and it seemed like everywhere we went he was performing somehow-The Thursday night VIP party and at the Sunday VIP Party and then at the pool during the day!! He was always personable and outgoing!! Even when I was feeling shy he really encouraged us to have a good time- THANK YOU JULIO!! Also- the bartenders and the servers all made sure we had a great time!! I am booking another trip here soon!! You cannot beat the price and the ENTERTAINMENT WAS AWESOME!

Me and my husband just got back from this resort and we had a blast. I think people who write negative reviews just too high maintenance and need to pay more money to go to a fancy resort. This resort is simple and beautiful with nice beach and pools. The rooms are just regular rooms. Who spent time in room other then sleep anywhere when there is sunshine everywhere. Everybody so exited about cabanas but for us we went there only one time and did not really like it. It is too isolated, with no breeze. We went ether to beach where you get more Dominican vibe or hang out by the pool. The people who work there are amazing, friendly and humble. The guys on the animation team (Papi, Mosquito, Lenny Kravitz, Publo Picasso, Julio the Rock and Kitty) entertained us the whole time. They play games with people, make you laugh and talk to you like you are their best friend. Guys at the pool bar always make sure u have a drink in hand. The shows at night are awesome to end the day with. The food is good and 2 buffets they have is more then enough. So many choices. We could not get reservation to Dominican restaurant so we did not go to others that we have reservations for. I do not see any sense going to Aisan or Italian in DR coming from NY. Overall it was great experience. Great people, great food, great place. Sunshine all around you inside and out. If you are easy going, like to relax and have fun go there and ignore bad reviews. We highly recommend it.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank the staff and the resort especialy the guys and gal poolside. Julio the Rock, Pablo Picasso, Lenny Kravitz OH MY MOTHER LOL, Papi, Mosquito, and Ms. Kitty. Being from NY i'm kida grizzlled but I honestly had a wonderful time if possible my wife and me ar already saving $$ to find our way back

Shout out to the guys running events at the pool...thanks for an amazing time! There's always something fun going on different games, dancing, contests etc...they are all great entertainers and know how to keep the good times going. Very friendly and appreciative. The bartenders take excellent care to make sure you are having great time. I am going back for sure!

First off this was my first time in DR and it was amazing. Not only was the resort amazing from the beautiful pools to the numbers of beaches to the endless drinks the entertainment was breathe taking. Julio the Rock, Pablo Picasso, Lenny Kravitz, Papi, Mosquito, and Ms. Kitty were all amazing, very sociable and VERY attractive entertainers. They all kept me entertained my entire trip and every time they saw me they took out time to talk to me and make me laugh. This resort is definitely 5 stars and for the first time i can say I have no complaints. I started everyday with my amazing spanish lessons from the VERY handsome Julio the Rock, then on to water aerobics with Ms. kitty, Pablo Picasso and Julio the Rock, then fun by the pool with all sorts of activities with the hilarious Papi and Mosquito, and ended my nights with the amazing performances with the very talented dancing boys and girls in the Colosseum. I went on this trip with my family but i would definitely return with my significant other because it is also a very romantic setting also. There is always something to do and great food to eat at this resort. Even though you had to pay for wifi there were a number of places on the resort with free wifi which was great! Not only were the working nice but the people at the resort were all so sociable and very welcoming. All credit for my great trip goes to the very sweet entertainers. If you ever have the chance to go to the Tropical.....GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Its worth every penny!!!

First off, when you come to this resort, make best friends with all of the entertainers !! Papi, Mosquito, Pablo Picasso, Lenny Kravitz, and Ms Kitty were all amazing !! I traveled with a friend so we were kind of doing our own thing most of the time. I figured most of the time I would be hanging out just simply relaxing, having a drink by the pool or ocean, simply doing nothing. This was NOT the case. Anytime any of the entertainers noticed me they would come hang out for a little bit and just chat it up about anything. See a female you like?? NO worries, they will go get her for you AND do all of the talking, HAHA! I spent 5 nights here recently and it was my first time out of the country and it was a trip I will never forget. No it is not a 5 Star resort that has top tier champagne, there is no waiter to wait on your every need and service possible; but you know what ?! IT WAS FUN !!! I don't need my ever need waited on to be happy, all I need is a stiff drink (CHECK!) beautiful place (CHECK!) and even more beautiful women (CHECK! CHECK! CHECK!) I didn't see one local on the resort, ALOT of people from New York, Germany, New Jersey. Those were the 3 places I met the most people. It was a melting pot, and people just didnt sit around and tan all day so it livened up the experience. All in all, all credit goes to the entertainers Papi, Pablo Picasso, Lenny Kravits, Mosquito, and Ms Kitty. WELL DONE MI AMIGOS/ AMIGAS !!!

Overall this place was great. It was my first time at an all inclusive and I was pretty impressed. Unfortunately I was sick throughout most of the trip (none of which had to do with the hotel but health issues that happened to come up just before I left for vacation). The guys at the resort were great for helping wherever they could. When I couldn't stop throwing up, they gave my bf a drink for me, I can't remember the concoction and although it was disgusting, it cleared up and settled my stomach instantly. I was able to eat again within hours. I got to know the girls in the little shop well and they were great for giving me some over the counter meds to help with a head cold/ eye infection/ sunburn. As for the resort, the bands things was a little confusing but considering we weren't owners and didn't pay as much, I was fine with everything we had access to. The only annoying thing was the fact we couldn't go into the bar/club things after hours and we didn't see any other sort of entertainment for nightlife that we could attend. Some of the people we were with managed to sneak in one night and said it was really fun. The maids were great and I loved the towel art and little extra special touches they did in our room. The sellers on the beach and in the evening by the pools were annoying. We befriended a local tour guide in town and he drove us around to the shops downtown where we bought some art and other little things at 1/8th the cost of the resort guys, directly from the painters themselves. We also went to D'Charly's and saw some resort staff there after hours, they seemed stoked to see us actually enjoying the town instead of sticking to just resort. I will always have fond memories from that little bar!! I always felt super comfortable in the town and the locals are awesome.

We just got back from a week at this resort: Feb 27th 2015: This resort is top notch. We loved the staff and the friends we met during our week here. At the Casablanca Carlo Ro Yer and Jose' Rafael Castillo provide unbelievable service. You have never had two waiters that were better than these two guys. I am talking mimosa waiting on the table when they see you coming!! That's if they know you like it, which we did! As far as the entertainment: Julio "the rock" was so fun to be around, and Wilton ran the shows at the Coliseum like no one else could. It was funny, great entertainment every night. If you go there and are a fan of massages visit Joel and get yourself a "hot rock" massage and spend the morning at the spa. So relaxing. For the excursions see "John Wayne". No kidding, that is the name he goes by. He will talk to you about the horse riding trip that is the best we went on. A horse ride through the mountains and meeting a family was the best. He loves his American sports teams too! Alfanso is the man to go to for the para sailing or boating fun. All and all this was the best resort and vacation ever. We will be back next Feb, can't wait!! Thank you, Lifestyles, for the best vacation ever. You made us love this country.

I have been to the Dominican Republic many times and the Lifestyle Resort is the best. The Presidential Suites is my favorite by far but this time I stayed at the Tropical. This particular hotel was just ok, but the entertainment teamis always amazing. I love all of the shows and the entertainers, but Julio is absolutely the best. He is so so funny and smiles all of the time. Keep up the great work with your entertainment team because they really make your vacation worth it.

My husband and I come annually to visit family and are therefore booking based on price. We got a sweet deal through cheap Caribbean. We have stayed as guests in the property before but this is the first time all included. This review is based on a non VIP package. Checkin fast but as people have said you may be left with some questions as to what your bracelet covers. That said.... Ask.... Dinner reservations made for you as well but we didn't make it to any dinners. Rooms are basic and clean. Might I suggest bringing a pillow. They are dated and somewhat uncomfortable. We had restock daily and always had towels and necessities. We also looked after our maid. The food in the buffet was plentiful and we have no complaints. I am vegetarian and always had lots of options to keep me going. There are certain areas you can access free wifi. In front if the duty free was the best area I found. The VIP beach has it as well but it's difficult to connect. The beach beds are comfy and relaxing. Nice to be able to have drinks and snacks delivered to you while lounging. I cannot mention the entertainment staff as we didn't really have much involvement. We did attend the VIP party on Sunday night which I believe everyone is invited to. Was a very impressive show with an insurmountable amount of food. There was a foam party following the show. We spent almost every night down the way at the ocean world terrace. This is separate from any included items but a bottle of rum is cheap and we could relax and use the free wifi. It is a night area for the locals. We enjoyed a concert with over 1500 ppl. Highly recommend this area if u prefer a more local experience. Wed night is karaoke. Parking in site is a bit tricky if you rent a vehicle too. Will most def stay here again if we can get our price!!

We all had a wonderful stay at the tropical lifestyle resort and spa. Everyone was alot of help and the workers were very friendly and funny like one of the guys we met his name was papi. He made sure we all had a blast and would say hi to us with a big smile on his face and ask us how our day was going. We also went over to cofresi and played some volleyball where we met another guy named julio. Julio is one of the most funniest people ive ever met! we all loved the shows that went on expecially the ones with him in it. All in all we had a very good time and everyone made sure if it. This was our first time traveling and we will definitely be back. I went there with a boyfriend and we came back engaged and even more in love: ) thank you for this Awsome trip.

Your experience here will be entirely different depending on what color wrist band you pay for! We have tried BLUE (average), GOLD (above average) and now BLACK bands...there is no better service, quality, value, etc. that you will find anywhere! Beaches are not pristine and white but the facility is top notch when you go Black Band! The staff and almost all of the restaurants are excellent (Casablanca Buffet was the only disappointment). Excellently run resort! Highly recommend.

We just returned from 5 days at the Tropical. We booked through cheapcaribbean (hello because of the amazing prices), and then I read ALL of the reviews. I was scared of what may be in store. I packed disinfecting wipes, tons of bug spray and prepared myself for a less than desirable experience. I am, however, happy to report that we had a fabulous time. The room was okay- a regular hotel room. We've stayed at nicer and we've stayed at worse. It was clean and comfortable, what more do you want? I didn't pay $5,000+ to be at a top notch resort with butler service and so I knew not to expect that and we were fine. Tipped the bell boy $5 the first day and he had our refrigerator re-stocked everyday with water, beer, pepsi, etc. The restaurants were fine- not sure what everyone is expecting but Casablanca (the breakfast/ lunch/ dinner buffet) always had enough variety and good food to keep us fed and happy. We had reservations at The Blue Lagoon (seafood) and the Asian restaurant- the hotel pre-reserves these for you. I had read all the reviews about people being difficult and trying to change reservations so I didn't bother with trying to change ours- figured we would just go with it and it was fine. I didn't think the Blue Lagoon was all that great anyways. In either case, you are getting an all-inclusive for food and drink, you don't have to cook or clean up so just be happy and go with the flow. You'll be fine. The staff (And all of the people in the DR) were all incredibly friendly and very accommodating. Seriously, I am still trying to figure out what all the negative reviews were for... people wanting to be treated like royalty (which, i mean you kind of are anyways) for pennies? Maybe we were just lucky? In either case, we had a great time, for a great price, and would/ will definitely return.

My friend and I visited this resort for a girls trip not knowing what to expect! We had an amazing time! The price was affordable, the beaches and pools are beautiful, and the entertainment is exceptional! We always looked forward to spending the afternoon by the pool with Moskito, Lenny Kravitz, Romeo, and Papi! This crew did such an amazing job engaging the guests in activities from volleyball, to drink mixing class, water balloon games, etc! So much fun!! The shows and parties in the evenings are a must also! The food is great, drinks are always flowing and our room was clean. We upgraded to VIP so were able to visit some of the extra beaches and restaurants which was awesome! I've been to quite a few all inclusives in Mexico, I usually leave thinking that I wouldn't want to eat the buffet for one more day. I definitely didn't feel that way about this resort. I wanted to stay forever! What stood out most to me at this resort were the pools and the entertainment! Definitely give Moskito, Lenny, Romeo, and Papi a ton of credit for the amazing time we had at the pool and shows! Will be back in April and can't wait to see them!

I want to mention the amazing experience in Puerto Plata with the staff. Specifically Papi, Mosquito, Pablo, George, Julio, and Kiti. Their attitudes and enthusiasm made my vacation the greatest vacation ever!! They were very funny, happy and interacted well with the people at the resort. Thank you guys for everything!!

Let me preface this review by stating: You will find many negative reviews on here in which the writers criticize every little thing, much of the time the critiques are of small, meaningless things. Don't be scared away by the reviewers who complain of dirty or "unacceptable" rooms. Simply not the case. The room (building 5 at the tropical) was more than satisfactory, very clean, and comfortable. People also seem to be complaining about the food. We bought a VIP package (blue bracelet) on groupon and it alotted us 2 restaurant reservations. The food was very good at both restaurants. The rest of the nights we ate the Buffet, where the food was fine. Not a five star restaurant but who cares? you're there to relax and hang out on the beach..not to be a food critic. The resort itself is gorgeous. Plenty of activities for all ages day and night. VIP gives you access to most pools and beaches and everyone treats you very nicely. Other than that you won't be disappointed. In conclusion, if you're a normal person you'll have no problem staying here whatsoever. If you're a whiny little complainer then maybe you should stop crying and pay the extra money for a more ritzy spa like vacation..pretty simple. If you're cool you'll enjoy. Bottom line.
