"Not by the beach but great pools!"
This is the smaller hotel in Acapulco and no view of the ocean but I like their outdoor pools. The water park is definitely great especially for kids and way better! They also have a regular shuttle service to the beach if you'd like to go there.
They have limited food options but at least they have a small restaurant if you'd like to just stay in and not go anywhere. They have decent sized rooms and hotel employees are very nice, friendly and respectful.
The parking is a little troublesome as you have to walk quite a ways if you don't do valet parking.
This hotel like other chains or big hotels in Mexico will try to sell you a timeshare. If you are not careful, you might end up buying one! Be sure you know what you are getting yourself into.
"Great Young Family Resort"
Even we stayed here, we visited this sister resort. It is a new resort about 3 years old. Great for families with young children because of the children water park and lazy river that runs all around the different pools at the water park. The rooms are new and comfortable. The food at the Sambas Restaurant was delicious. The service outstanding. Don't forget to bring your mosquito spray...The one downside is that there is no access to the beach, you have to take the shuttle bus.
"fabulous pools for all ages, kid friendly"
Lots of activities for all ages,or great pools if you just want to relax, lots of amenities here as well as the room are very clean and comfortable, lots of dining options at the resort as well,Costco is close by but to Acapulco itself a bit of a cab ride, beaches are very accessible from the resort, but be careful of underwater tows when swimming, all in all a family friendly resort, very well maintained
"Nice Family vacation"
Nice Family vacation taken. The section where we stayed in a few years ago was under construction. We had wonderful food at all the restaurants that were open. The ocean water is very clean, however, it is not blue water. This didn't affect our vacation at all because there was a lot of activities going on.
"Baldo made it magnificent."
My husband and I planned this trip about a year ago and it was well worth the wait. The Mayan Palace was wonderful. All the employees and the service they provided was 5 star and beyond compare. We loved every minute of our stay and the weather could not have been better. The best thing we did was hire our guide, Baldo Gomez. This man was more like having a family friend take you around than someone you had never met before. He took care of us from the minute he picked us up at the airport until he dropped us off for our flight home, like we were his personal responsibility. Whatever we needed he was there for us. He personalized all our requests and made us feel so very special. Even when he didn't drive us himself he put us in the hands of his awesome nephew, Ramon. Ramon has learned from his uncle because he was just as good to us. Whatever you do, don't go without a guide. If you really want to see Acapulco at it's finest and be treated like royalty and family, call Baldo Gomez.
"Beautiful Acapulco"
What a wonderful city and resort! The weather was perfect 80-90 with sunshine every day. Plenty of water to cool off in and fantastic views of the city from our driver, Ricardo Alverez Avila. We were concerned about safety with all of the stories of the violence in Mexico, but the property and beach were well patrolled, with clean surroundings, beautiful gardens and a friendly and attentive staff. This was to be a one time trip, but we will definitely return.
The view of the city and bay in the evening was a picture to remember. Cliff divers, the silver factory and the flea market in old town made our trip of memorable. We booked Ricardo from the hotel to pick us up at the airport and we made an immediate friend. From grocery shopping to dining and inner city attractions it was a great trip which we would recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure.
Ricardo may contacted at

"Great time with Ben at Acapulco"
We went with the family including two teenage daughter. We all had a very good time. This place is well maintained, the staff were very friendly and helpful. But the kitchen is not well equipped similar to US resorts. The best part is the outside this resort experience was awesome. We visited usual tourist place like cliff diver show, Tres Palos we also visited Tehaucalco ruins. The guide cum driver Mr.Benjamin Alarcon (
[email protected]) gave us the official tour and answered all the queries from my family and is very responsive. Benjamin made our trip very worthwhile. The restaurant at the beach during our "Tres Palos" was very memorable and my daughters are still talking about it.
This is definitely a repeatable tour with Benjamin.
"Had an amazing vacation"
Okay, my dreams came true. I went to Acapulco for a week vacation, it was beyond amazing! The weather, the beaches, the people, the horse ride... yes, I definitely plan to go back soon! My special thanks to the hotel, I loved everything there. The service was great, it made me feel like I was home. We were so lucky to have met Miguel (
[email protected]), the tourist guide. He was great help showing us around and telling us the history of Acapulco. Thanks again for all the workers and special thanks to Miguel, See you soon!
"Driver - Carlos Alegria"
I don't know what we would have done without Carlos Alegria. He was our go to person for our entire stay. He took us everywhere and nothing was ever a problem for him. He had great suggestions on things we should do and places we should see. He was always on time, is very friendly and an all around great guy. Totally trustworthy and reasonably priced. I highly recommend him. You won't be disappointed.
"Doesn't get any better than this"
I have to admit. I was very skeptical about traveling to Acapulco. I had read some bad press and wasn't sure what this vacation would be like. It took some serious coercing tactics by my wife to persuade me into this trip. My wife had been in communication with a gentleman by the name of Baldo Gomez (a highly recommended driver on trip advisor). He responded quickly and precisely and with great detail. He is the main reason that I decided to move forward with the trip. Baldo's Nephew also works with him. His name is ramone. He was very helpful and we had a blast with him as well. These guys speak perfect English and are so helpful and really know the history of Acapulco. Boy am I so glad that I took my wife's advice. This was by far the best location we have visited in Mexico and possibly anywhere else. Everything was beautiful and there is just so much culture and so many great things to do in Acapulco. Thanks to Baldo, we did not waste any time on researching. He recommended places and things to do and we trusted him without question. He was so right on everything. Everything we did with Baldo was great. He even recommended that we spend some time at the resort and knew when we would need to kick back and relax or get on the move at the many great places. If you decide to contact Baldo, make sure you go on his city tour, the Laguna experience, and save an evening for dinner overlooking the bay. It is an awesome sight with so many lights. I have never seen anything like it. My only recommendation is to ask if they can break change for your pesos before you buy anything. If they can't make change....don't bother. Make sure you have plenty of 20, 10, 50, and 100 pesos denominations.
This was the perfect location and family spot. The pools were really great and the staff at the restaurant and pool bar were so courteous and professional. The food was awesome at the Samba and Marcos, Gabriel Gonzalez and Israel de la Cruz really went out of their way to provide immaculate service. These guys really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Juan Carlos, and his friends call him Juan Carlos, was such a nice guy and provided a friendly and fun service at the pool bar.
I don't know what else to say. Between Baldo Gomez and the guys at the Palace there is not much more I could ask for. This was the best vacation we have been on and I plan on making the trip every year, at least once a year.
"Perfect family vacation!"
The hotel was a perfect place for our family with 3 children ages 4, 8, and 10. I can honestly say that without a doubt our driver Baldo Gomez was a huge part of the reason that our trip was so wonderful! He was hands down the highlight of our trip. My kids still say they miss him so much and that he was the best part of the trip! My husband had huge doubts about the trip because of a lot of the media stuff going around, so I read many reviews on trip advisor and decided to contact Baldo. He responded immediately and continued to respond quickly and in length to all of my many questions. He also informed me that my flight would probably be delayed (which it was) and that he would keep track of it and would wait--this was such a huge relief because we didn't arrive until about 2:30 am. It was such a nice feeling to have him waiting for us when we arrived. I highly recommend the city tour with him--it was fabulous! He will cater to whatever you are looking for in your trip! His nephew Ramone was amazing too--he took us on a wonderful trip to the Lagoon (which I also highly recommend). Baldo took us to the most amazing places to eat--I have to say that I have never eaten such amazing tacos!! Needless to say, my husband was incredibly happy that we had Baldo and couldn't believe he considered for us not to visit the beautiful Acapulco! I could go on and on... I highly recommend contacting him--you won't be disappointed--just make sure he is available for us when we come back:) he can be contacted at bado-

The resort itself was perfect for us! We spent quite a bit of time there (which we normally don't do). The lazy river was wonderful! The only thing I would say about that is that I wished it would stay open a little longer---I think they shut it down at 6pm. The pools were
wonderful and I especially enjoyed the swim up bar. The
resort was beautiful and peaceful--not one person bugging us or trying to sell us a time share. The restaurant and the staff were superb! We are there several times! The hotel was beautiful too and a great experience to see the vendors on the beach--they will harass you, but I think that is
part of the fun to see a little bit of the culture--super cute beach cover ups for a great price down there along with a wonderful massage! We will definitely be back--such a beautiful place and such a perfect getaway!
"Wonderful Place"
Good workers, cleaning place, beautiful beach , good hospitality , we loved the place and the Acapulco city, we went las quebradas, old Acapulco, hotel flamingos, laz Paz church .
We have wonderful time, I hope will came back soon
"Mayan Palace and staff."
The resort is beautiful, clean, safe, entertaining, and spacious. I can not say enough about the amenities of this resort. The grounds are exquisite, exceptional service, and spacious/clean rooms. Although the hotel is not right on the beach, it is within walking distance and a shuttle is available all day/night. You have access to all of the resorts. All your entertainment, food, shopping, and other needs can be fulfilled on the resort. although I would not suggest NEVER leaving the resort, Acapulco is BEAUTIFUL.
All of the staff here are friendly and helpful. There are two employees who really made our stay here more fun, relaxing, and enjoyable, their names are Ramiro Anica and Andrez Ramirez. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, engaging with other tourist, and with the staff. Ramiro and Andrez made us feel welcome, appreciated, and respected. They are very professional and dependable.
We recommend staying at in Acapulco, Mexico. This was truly one of the best vacations we have taken and plan to go back again.
"Loved our stay"
We were pleasantly surprised at this wonderful location and our stay in Acapulco.
Even though there was construction going on it was never disruptive of our stay. For example one night overnight a whole area had been re-landscaped. The workers did everything at night so as not to disrupt the visitors as this was an area near the pool.
Perfect sunsets EVERY night! Always a cool breeze off the water too. Great grounds to have morning walks. We loved the extra room and had a wonderful beach front view. We did also enjoy the lazy river and restaurant by the pool. January is a wonderful month to visit!!!!
"Beautiful Beautiful"
My stay at in Acapulco was absolutely perfect. The swimming pools and grounds were absolutely magnificent and well attended to. The less than 5 minute shuttle ride to the beach was also a breeze, not a chore as some others have described. The staff was also very charming. The food at Samba, the only restaurant on the resort was absolutely sublime. I strongly recommend the chicken enchilada. Also our travel guide Baldo was the absolute best travel guide I've ever experienced during my travels. He was extremely accomodating and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend contacting him if you visit Acapulco.

"Great Place"
We just had a five star week in Acapulco. We were traveling with a family group of 5 - grandparents, parents and a 10 year old. We had first class experiences from the time of our pick up at the airport by Juan Hernandez. I arranged the pickup by emailing the hotel. Juan, our driver, was there waiting for us. He stopped at a first class grocery store so we could purchase provisions before we checked into our condo. We arranged a City tour for Sunday. Sunday was recommended by Juan and it proved to be a great choice of days. Juan drove the 5 of us all day. He recommended a local Restaurant, The Cabana, for lunch. We loved it. We spent most of the week enjoying the facilities at the hotel - golf, the spa, shopping, swimming at the two pools, Beach Walking and some evening events. Juan drove some of us to the botanical gardens. Juan had suggested dinner out on Thursday because it is local Pozole night. We took him up on his advice, and he drove us to a fantastic local restaurant not far from the hotel for Thursday Pozole night and dancing. Fantastico! I wish that restaurant was close to us in California.
We were totally satisfied with the location, security, furnishings, staff & our experiences in Acapulco which included a snorkel trip with Swiss Scuba.
"Winter break in Acapulco"
The weather was glorious...especially after the winter we've been having in New York!
The Resort was beautiful. The grounds rivaled any tropical botanical gardens we've visited! The facilities are well-maintained and sparkling clean, staff was terrific and there was no pressure to take sales tour. The pool is truly amazing...so many nooks and crannies to sit, swim and play. Easy shuttle service to the access the beach there, with easy towel service and at this time of the year, there was no problem getting a sheltered tent or hut on the beach. Although the vendors on the beach were numerous ( we counted over 20 different items or services offered), they were never pushy and were always polite. The Cafe de Lago was always a good restaurant choice for breakfast or various themed dinners with live music and a wonderful wait staff. The only down side for us, was that the "studio" we had through our RCI exchange, was really a hotel room...lovely, but without the amenities of a mini-kitchen that we are used to from our other studio exchanges. These rooms could benefit by having a refrigerator, coffee-maker, microwave and plates/utensils to make the stay easier for those of us that don't want to eat out for every meal. We did stop at the "Selecto" market on the way to the resort, and because I had read another members review, I knew to purchase a small styrofoam cooler and various food items to get us through some breakfasts, lunches and snack times.
We took a tour of Acapulco..city highlights. It was informative and the view of the harbor from the Chapel of Peace was incredible. One evening we visited the local mall..La Isla and went to the movie theatre there...it was great!
Traveling to Acapulco is not easy..there are no direct flights and going through customs in Mexico City was an exercise in mass chaos...but once we hit the sunny beach, all was forgotten!
"Grand Experience"
Our family enjoyed every day, from the wonderful breakfast buffets to the stunning sunsets and beautiful warm evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed a great City Highlights Tour with Sebastian Hernandez, www.acapulcoforall.com and would recommend him highly. There is so much to see and enjoy. We love Mexico,- and Acapulco is a gem.
"Awesome place to Vacation"
Our family just returned from a trip to Acapulco Mexico. We stayed, as we have, many times. Great resort, wonderful staff, great beaches and lots of sunshine and evening sunsets. I can't say enough great things about our stay there this year. One of our greatest joys is meeting up with our friend and cab driver Benjamin Alarcon. If you are looking for a good time be sure to contact him. He will meet you at the airport in his well maintained, air conditioned Suburban. He took us on the city tour and to see the cliff divers. He knows all the best places to have dinner and see the city at night. There is also a three hour boat cruise with free drinks. Took lots of beautiful pictures. The trip was one of our best vacations ever. You will really enjoy having Benjamin as your cab driver and tour guide...He speaks excellent English.
"Would stay here again!"
It was a wonderful vacation to stay. My friend and I stayed for a week in January 2014. The weather was perfect and the resort was even better! My friend had the bedroom and I slept on one of the sofas. I truly slept like a baby. Our room had a kitchenette that came in very handy for (mostly) breakfast and to keep the beer cold in the refrig! The room was very, very clean with a beautiful view of the pool area that was spectacular. The grounds are meticulously kept. The pools and the lazy river were wonderful as well. The kids water park (all in the same area) was spectacular. Very easy to spend the day at the pool(s). We arranged for a driver before our trip from the great reviews he had gotten on this website.Baldo was a dream come true We couldn't have asked for a kinder, more knowledgeable person. He went out of his way not only to see the sites of the city but to take us grocery shopping and little unexpected errands we had. He never made us feel uncomfortable. His English and Spanish (he's a native) came in handy. We shopped at Wal-mart for groceries, fresh fruit was wonderful. You only need pesos while there. There are banks to change currency for you,but easier just to have pesos before you go. It's beneficial to know Spanish, bring a translation book if you don't. We also arranged for a day boat trip with Jerry that we really enjoyed. The resort should be able to give you more information about Baldo and Jerry as I have misplaced some of my notes and cards:( . Anyway, we left the lovely city of Acapulco full of interesting facts and wonderful memories. Thank you to all.
"Great Vacation"
Spent the first week of November in Acapulco. Was a little hesitant to go to Acapulco because of the reports of violence in the past years but read great reviews on TripAdvisor so took a chance-REALLY glad we did. The resort was fantastic-great staff, grounds and service. The only downside was that as an "owner" the room we had could have had a better view-we were on the back side of the hotel and our view was an unfinished building-the resort was not full at all so thought it could have been a view of the pool. We contacted Baldo Gomez for pick up at the airport and he took us to Mega before going to the hotel-we also did a city tour with him, his nephew took us to a local restaurant(The Crazy Shrimp) and then back to the airport-really enjoyed our time with both of them(highly recommend you contact him for any transportation needs).Would definitely recommend this for your vacation plans.
