We stayed At the Allegro Playacar From august 4 to the 15! We had the best time ever. We arrived at the hotel and they were fantastic! The food was really good, we've come to playa del carmen before and this hotel has the best food! The waiters at the buffet (Alejandro, Humberto, Luis, Alex, Jesus, Antonio, Manuel, Alfredo, Jacobo, Victor, Gloria, Limber and Cesar) were really great and funny! The beach was beautiful, probably the best beach we've been to! So I would recommend you to go to this hotel! We are definitely going back there next year, it was the best vacations we ever had!

"dreamtime in mexico"
Starting with the arrival, at any time we had a phantastic service for e v e r y wish we had! All people, which were in a service job, were very nice, allways with a smile. The entertainmentteam was allways in action and gave his best, to make the guests happy. Especially the food at all time was excellent and so much (different) , that we could not try the taste of all stuff that was offered. We have not seen such a great offer of different food before and we have seen many hotels, resorts or clubhotels before all around the world.

Very freindly and helpful staff. Food met our needs. A different theme every night: Chinese, International, Italian, Tex-Mex, Mexican. Breakfast buffet is substantial. Lunch at the snack bar is ok. The hamburger bar is awesome. In general, an older resort but is small, so we liked it for ease of getting around. You can get a taxi for 70-90 pesos to get to town to catch ferry to Cozumel. (We didn't go). The shopping had many jewelry stores. You can easily talk down the prices. Wear sunscreen! If you go on excursions involving snorkel, they are ecologically conscious and prefer you to wear biodegradable sun protection to have less harm to sea life. We went to Tulum and Akumal for one excursion, and Xel-Ha for the other. Would recommend both! A great vacation for couples or families.
"An Amazing first time in Mexico!!"
I stayed at the Allegro Playacar from August 8-15 with a group of 14 family friends. This was our first time in Mexico and we had a wonderful time. I had no problems with my room and it faced the Mexican a la carte. A big thank you to Jacobo and Cesar who always took care of our huge group during breakfast and dinner. The bartenders Luis and Nestor were always happy and always took care of us. The buffet was always clean and tidy and the food during the buffet was good. Every night there was a theme for dinner so there was always something new to try. The animation team which consisted of Israel, Ruben, Jesus, Ever, Kenny, Aida and Cesar were amazing. The nightly entertainment was really good and always an enjoyment to watch. The animation team was also in charge of the daily activities by the pool and beach and they always got the guests involved. They were also in chrage of the kids club, the resort was family friendly and they also took care of the towle bar which always had towels. The staff throughout the hotel were always friendly and starting conversations with us. The sports bar/club was always fun to hang out in after the nightly entertainment and the DJ let my brother spin for a few nights which the DJ himself enjoyed. Javier and William were also very welcoming in the morning and afternoon by the excusion desk. Overall,my stay was amazing and I would reccomend this hotel to anyone.
"VERY NICE!"
We stayed here in July. When we arrived I have to be honest that we were a bit disappointed. It is an older hotel and the room is small and the beds are hard. That being said, it took us a couple days to settle in and realized that it was on the best beach that I have ever been on, and I have been to a lot of beaches. We stayed away from the pool because it was too loud. The breakfast buffet and the Italian and Mexican restaurants were very good. Just say no to the time share people. The waiters and the Captains at both restaurants bent over backwards to please us. Make sure you rent a car one day and visit Tulum and Akumal. Very close to 5th Avenue. Go to Fusion restaurant on the beach and watch the belly dancing, live band and fire show on the beach at 11pm.

I stayed at the Allegro Playacar from August 8-15 with a group of 14 family friends. This was our first time in Mexico and we all had a wonderful experience. The staff working during the buffet were amazing! A big thank you to Jacabo during breakfast and lunch for always taking care of our group. The food was good, every night there was a different theme so there was always something different to try. The bartenders were always fast with our drinks and were always friendly. Luis and Nester usually worked the bar and always took care is us. The animation team which consisted of Israel, Ruben, Jesus, Ever, Kenny, Aida and Cesar were amazing. They nightly entertainment was always a pleasure to watch and they always made sure that the activities during the day by the pool and beach were fun and tried to get the guests involved. They really made our stay much more enjoyable. During our stay, the hotel was family friendly and there was a lot of families with children but the animation crew was also in charge of the kids club. All of the workers were friendly and made our stay an amazing time. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would reccomend it to everyone.

They would lighten up our breakfast, lunch and dinner! We went to the mexican restaurant near the pool, and we loved it! It was excellent! The barmen were so kind and made excellent drinks, but i can only remember one who was Ivn and worked at night in the buffet, really great barman! And what can I say about the animation! Israel, Ever, Jesus, Ruben and Kenny were incredibly talented! Every day there was aquarobics, dance classes and a different game and contest every day! They made us feel like home! Every night there was a show and it was espectacular! They made us laugh out loud every night! They were so kind! They are so greatThe beach was beautiful, probably the best beach we've been to! So I would recommend you to go to this hotel! It can be a hotel for families, couples, business partners ,etc! We are definitely going back there next year, it was the best vacations we ever had! And it is close of playa del carmen :)
"Good Experience . Amazing Staff!"
I visited the Allegro from August 8-15. My group included 14 which was easily recognized by all staff after the first day. The front reception and bell hop were so helpful on the first night and assisted with all our requests. We needed a lightbulb change and a hammock and they graciously helped to make sure it was done ASAP. We requested rooms together however there were limited spots and the receptionist did her very best to keep us close together. The beach is beautiful and endless activities are available. We parasailed on the beach and took a few day tours. I recommend Chichen Itza, Ik Kil, Isla Mujures and a Catamaran tour. The hotel offers yoga, aqua fit and beach volley ball. Kenny, Isreal, Ruben, Cesar, Ever and the entire animation team is outstanding. They make you feel included in everything and encourage you to participate. The bartenders and the cleaning staff work very hard all day cleaning and serving. A big thank you to Nestor, Jacob and Luis. One Day I suffered from excessive drinking and the staff was willing to help with my hangover ! Thanks for that. The Dj allowed us to use his equipment to play music a few nights at the disco and we had a blast. The Italians are catered to specially by the "Eden Village Team" which didn't bother us considering they were friendly to us. Especially Francesco and Mattia. I encourage you to visit this hotel if you want to experience authentic island living. Hope to visit soon.

I had the best vacations ever, we really enjoyed every bit of it! We want to come back every year! The animation was excellent, israel jesus ever ruben they made a different show every night and it made us laugh out loud!

Cant fault this hotel, always sunbeds available, no queing for meals , staff are extremely friendly and helpful especially angel. Rooms are fairly basic but always kept clean everyday , evening entertainment needs a bit of work but you cant have it all. The Beach is absolutely stunning . The buffet has a huge choice of food due to the theme nights which is always welcome. Would recommend this hotel highly

A wonderful resort. Great proximity to the beach and shopping of playa del Carmen. Great choice of food in restaurants and drinks of very good quality. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to help. The guest services manager, Julieta Ferroda is exceptional at her job in making things run smoothly IF there is a problem. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to go back again!

I find it hard to understand some the negative comments, the staff are so friendly and helpful, location with one of the pools right on the fantastic beach is superb. The whole site is very clean and tidy. Room right by beach and pool not massive but everything we need.

Currently at this hotel and I must say that it is excellent. The rooms are tired but to be honest, how much time do you spend in your room. The place is spotless.. I have stayed at more expensive resorts and this place is the cleanest I have ever stayed at. I am a fussy vegetarian but the food is excellent, top notch food, the best all inclusive I have stayed at in terms if food and drink. Top notch food and the drinks are also. Food is available all the time and it tastes as if it is homemade. The staff are one of the best I have met, from the cleaners to the groundsmen , waiters to the animation staff, everyone smiles, is polite and very attentive especially Manuel Deltoro in the restaurant and ruben in the animation staff but to be honest I would name everyone if I could. I came here with my partner and 4 young adults, everyone is having a fantastic time, so relaxed and the feeling is as if you are in your own home. The beach is beautiful as are the pools, always beds available and spotlessly clean and no hassle from anyone. Cleanliness and safety is too priority for me and this place is spotless, no flies or wasps around considering the heat an that's because all the staff work really hard to keep it clean. I will post pictures later and also another review but please consider what I say, you could go somewhere else for more money and perhaps a posher room but you would lose all the appeal this hotel has to offer. "All inclusive goodness"
We stayed here with 2 other couples and made tons on friends every day. We had a room steps from the pool closest to the beach and our location couldn't have been better. The bartenders were generous drink makers and the food was great. It was the perfect mix of party and relaxation. Don't miss the performances and try out the on sight night club.

In general the hotel was super nice I really love it I think I will coming back my family and I love the entertainment team Israel and the rest of the team Jesus the pool the sea wow is good price for this hotel love it food is good I think is very good service no bad comments thanks guys .

"Great hotel"
We have just returned from our honeymoon at the allegro in playacar the only complaint i can find about the hotel are the hard beds everything else was superb the staff where fantastic they worked really hard & couldnt do enough for us . The food was really nice although sometimes the buffet was alittle cold if you got in for dinner alittle later but it was nice the two alacarte resturants where excellent both seved great food with first class service & in the room we had the airconditioning worked lovely grounds perfect beach highly recomend
"Friends trip"
We have A wonderfull time at that reserot is so nice it works for us animation team wonderfull i go out at cocobongo and Israel Jesus super guys really work hard the staff at the restaurant super nice service people we come back
"After bad winter this was needed"
This was a last minute trip f or my wife and I. After the winter we had my birthday & fathers day wad the best time to get away. At Cancun airport we had private transportation waiting for us provided by a company working with the resort. The SUV was clean and the ride smooth. Our check in took longer than expected but the end result was we were upgraded to VIP status. Our room was stocked with four different alcohols and the small icebox full of beer, Soda and water. The two restaurants on site, Italian & Mexican cuisine, were good except that if you wanted better wine (not the house wine) you had to pay for it. I never had to pay at an all inclusive resort...The buffet was nice and the workers exceptionally helpful. The entertainment staff during the day by the pool & beach and the ones during the evening are very talented, fun, and approachable. They crave crowd participation and I participated in everything. .. I would definitely return.
"Great vacation for the price"
People, when booking this resort the price says it all. This is what I would consider a value resort, but with that being said, you get a lot for your money. My suggestion is to try to get a first floor room, we stayed in 4201 and it was great. Ac nice and cold and close to both the beach and pool. Email Silvia beforehand! We received free VIP status with minor upgrades (which included the better room). I love the bungalow style rooms versus the standard long hallway hotels. And the hammocks on everyone's porches are so nice to relax in the evenings. The staff resort were all very friendly and tries to keep all guests busy and happy. The rooms are smaller, just enough room for the bed and a few other furnishings, but really who goes on a beach vacation to stay in the room?! Another thing to help keep your room cool, is to keep the bathroom door closed, as the bathroom has a window that stays open to keep the bathroom aired out. I felt that the food was good and there was always a variety. What was nicer with this resort is that you can book reservations at the restaurants a day or two in advance. The location of the resort is great, about a 15 minute walk to downtown shopping. Book an excursion through downtown if you can. We went through iguana tours or easy tours(both names identify it) and the excursion was about half the price as at the resort. Please remember when you book here, you are not booking at a five star resort. Don't expect five star treatment. However, if you do realize you are booking at a nicer value resort, you will realize that you do get quite a bit for your money.
