"Fantastic 2014 Holiday, Returning 5th May 2015, Cant Wait!!!"
Hubby and I had a fantastic holiday in May 2014, we returned home and immediately booked up for May 15. We are 9 weeks away from returning and honestly cant wait. So looking forward to our friends, Jose and Juan from the pool bar 2 and reception and nightclub bar, they were so polite and always had a smile for us, they so made us laugh! Our room was immaculately clean, bedding and towels changed 6 days a week. Food was great, unless you are extremely fussy! always fresh salads, soups, and daily lunch and dinner themes. The chefs and restaurant staff were brilliant, nothing was any trouble and again always with a smile. Reception is extremely professional and helpful and happy to help you with enquries about Adeje and adjoining areas. We have booked room 4114 next to pool 2 which is the room we had in May 14, really hope this request has been received by the hotel reception staff as the location was perfect. As we said, cannot wait to get back and enjoy 2 weeks of sun and enjoyment at the Playa Olid. Anyone who gives negative feedback on this hotel does not appreciate the effort the management and staff put in to make your holiday a comfortable and enjoyable one.
"Great Hotel !!"
I spent a week searching for holidays for my husband me and our 2 boys (7 and 12 ) and although a little outside playa de las Americas (where we originally wanted to stay ) this hotel had the best reviews and it didn't fail to disappoint 5 mins from aqua land and Siam park , 8 euros and about 10 mins in a taxi to playa de las Americas nice small town in Costa adeje it was a prime location . Bus stops right outside too , there are 3 pools all a nice size and was a lovely little area for babies , the kids club was great and the childrens entertainment people were amazing with the kids and they we're sad to leave ! The hotels entertainment was standard parrot shows eagle shows but a couple of the nights were brilliant .
The rooms were clean and spacious and quiet had a tv and kitchen with all the utilities , towels and beds changed all except 2 days , the food well ... If you went hungry , you most definitely need to see a doctor ! Altho slightly repetitive there was food and drink all day/ night long !! The staff were friendly helpful and I literally can not fault this hotel for what we paid at all !! Will most definitely be back .
"Excellent half term break"
Just returned after a Feb school holiday spent at Playa Olid Adeje.
On arrival our allocated room smelt of smoke - went to reception who immediately apologised and found an alternative (all rooms are non-smoking).
We were all inclusive. The food was varied - my fussy 13 year old twins always found something to eat, plenty of space in dining rooms, minimal queues even at busy times. Theme nights of Mexican and Chinese added a bit of variety. 2 drinks per person limit at bar, which is reasonable, although sometimes there were still queues at the bars. Wine from the supermarket underneath the hotel was only 2euros40c and was also very drinkable!
The hotel was immaculately clean throughout, staff all very pleasant and friendly. The Owner/Manager seemed to be always around keeping an eye on things.
Fee wifi downstairs - its a bit patchy but think they are in the process of updating.
We were in room 2503 which - from the balcony - looked out onto the Skypark to the left (not that great) but front and right views were out to the sea. We had the sun most of the day and enjoyed sitting out on the balcony every late afternoon.
We chose the free Siam Park option with this hotel. The complimentary bus is a bit of mare, a bit of a free for all and even though they are supposed to go every 20 minutes from the bus stop 10 mins walk away - we always seemed to be waiting much longer. On day 3 to Siam park we taxiied straight from the hotel and it was 7 euros there and 8 euros back from the rank outside the park .
Adeje was lovely to walk around, played mini golf, went on bungee trampolines and boat ride.
Will go back again and recommend.
"5 Stars for this little gem"
Just back after 14 days all inclusive at the Playa Olid apartments. This place is a little gem; nothing fancy, just good basic fare. We have stayed in Thomsons so-called 4 star Platinum places (eg Hovima Costa Adeje),this matches them and, in many instances is far better. I think Thomsons should give this 3 star Platinum status.
We went all inclusive for 14 nights. The apartment we had was huge. There was a walk-in shower, (it didn't leak), a large double bedroom, a kitchen diner and lounge plus a large balcony. There was a cooker, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (no extra charge for fridge or kettle). Also, the lounge area had a modern flat screen TV with a few English channels (not that we used it much).
Rooms were cleaned 5 times a week and all the staff were brilliant.
There are a few niggles - the dining room is like a canteen and a bit cramped, We weren't expecting a modern restaurant and if you ate early, there was always plenty of room. Occasionally there were queues at the bar because of lack of staff. The evening entertainment was "average" to say the least and there were a few guests who "over-indulged", making a nuisance of themselves.
But all-in-all for value for money, absolutely brilliant; have already booked for later in the year
"GREAT HOLIDAY"
Just arrived home from 2 weeks all inclusive throughly enjoyed same . Stopped in room 4507 overlooking pool II great room super king bed, flat screen tv,fridge, microwave etc.Drinks and food very good, staff friendly, everywhere clean, great value for money can highly recommend.
"Good value for money"
Spent a week having booked a superior room. There is much focus by the ever-present owner on cleanliness, all items being in good order, and friendly efficient staff. Food is as variable as might be expected for all-inclusive but there are good choices of freshly-cooked items, salads and fresh fruits as well as the usual fried and cooked items. Some Spanish dishes also provided eg gazpacho always available. The included wine is light and easy to drink, higher quality can be bought. Coffee and fruit juices less good but under review we understand; we opted for the 5-euro fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast (1/2 litre).
We had an updated room so plenty of space. We slept well in good clean beds and had plenty of hot water. It was nice to have the fridge for wine and milk and the TV worked well except when bad weather broke up the signal.
The main (heated) pool can be noisy with music and children but the (cold) second pool was quieter and pleasant with lots of sun - we overlooked this pool. Loungers were comfortable and in good condition and umbrellas available. WiFi will be installed in the rooms but was available seated near reception.
The location overall is good with bus stops outside to places such as La Caleta (fish restaurants) or Cristianos.
Good value, we would return.
"Excellent"
I have been to this hotel twice once on a girls holiday 2013 and a family holiday 2014 and the staff remembered me and made us all welcome both times
The food is great and the rooms are clean
I would definitely recommend this hotel
"Very pleasant stay!"
Just got back last night from a week long stay at playa olid apartments. Apartment was immaculately clean. Had kettle and toaster etc even though all inclusive which was a nice surprise. Nice balcony area and felt spacious throughout. Had hairdryer in bathroom which was a bonus. Food very good, only ate out a few times away from hotel. Hotel staff friendly. Didn't use pool as went to beach nearly every day, but it looked ok. No complaints, had a great time with fab weather!
"Great holiday, and weather was wonderful"
Stayed at Playa Olid from 13th Feb for 1 week. Staff are very friendly and the apartment was fantastic, far too big for myself and my daughter. Great location and complex not too big so was quite happy for my 8 year old daughter to wonder about. Would definitely go back.
"Quiet holiday"
We have looked at these apartment a few time but never ventured in. What a little gem, great location, apartments spacious and very clean lots of activity if you want it. They even had a foam party for the kids and the big kids too. We worth the money
"Good winter break."
We stayed for a week from 8th February in an upgraded apartment. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are cleaning constantly. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was modern and nicely decorated. A kitchen with a microwave, two electric rings, kettle, coffee maker, fridge and sink was in the room but we did not use this much as we were all inclusive. We had the separate bedroom with two large single beds pushed together and out daughter slept on a very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. This also has a flat screen television that shows UK channels.
The all inclusive food was good although we did east out a couple of times as there are good restaurants a short distance away and you will struggle to spend more than 1 for a pint of beer in most bars. There are only snacks to eat during the day and you can opt for a burger/hot dog and chips for lunch at the rear pool bar. The included drinks were the usual selection and plentiful. The lobby and lounge were a bit claustrophobic for my liking and the evening entertainment was not really to our liking although popular with others.
The pools are on the small side but had loads of sun loungers and there is daily pool fun by the animation team at the top pool. There is a jacuzzi on the upper sun balcony. The rear pool is a lot quieter with better loungers. There is a pool bar at both pools.
"Fabulous Holiday"
Had a great 10 days all inclusive last month. Staff couldn't be nicer and food was lovely. Nice to have an apartment too with fridge etc instead of tiny hotel room will be back next year for sure. Different entertainment day and night with something for everyone. 10 minute walk to Playa de Las Americas for shopping and the beach but a fab local called 'The Pub' next door if u fancy something a bit livlier open til late
"Brilliant holiday"
loved this hotel and will certainly be booking to go back. We had Siam park included in with the holiday which was fab with children. The hotel is on a slight hill but this wasn't a problem at all. The food was good and plenty to choose from. The beer tasted a little watered down but that didn't bother me. The rooms had everything you needed and even a tv to watch while getting ready. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help. Can't wait to go back
"Pleasant stay"
Me, my fiance and near 2-year old boy stayed here for 11 nights and unfortunately have returned home today, this is a very pleasant hotel to stay in.
First of all, we can't comment on neither the food or entertainment as we went self-catering and prefer to eat out and also like to go out or have an early night for our boy so didn't see any of the entertainment on site. But judging by the full restaurant we saw and heard the entertainment and the people enjoying themselves, clearly the hotel are doing a lot right!!
We were in room 1503, it was near the main road and could hear the traffic but was never a problem or us, and had amazing views of the pool and sea front, and of the panormaic views from the front door. The rooms were always cleaned well for the 5 days a week commonly mentioned on here. We were in one of the standard rooms which had a kettle, toaster and even a washing machine which was a godsend for a young boy!!
The staff as well deserve praise as they were generally welcoming and smiling, something missing in a lot of hotels.
It's also only 10 minutes from the beach and plenty of places to eat etc, a great resort. Would be very happy to come back here.
"Great Place"
Arrived home 3 feb stayed 11 nights, spotless, very friendly staff, entertainment on a whole very good . Food very good , but mainly british something to eat for everybody, room very nice & clean. Childrens entertainment ok. Towels on sunbeds by 8 oclock (brits), close to shops , bars & town centre. Looking forward to staying there again. Well done to all your staff
"Fantastic Place!"
Stayed for two weeks on June 2013 & 2014. Going back June this year for the third year in a row. Says it all really. Superb location as base if exploring. Just go- you will not be disappointed unless you are an unrealistic holiday snob
"Brilliant hotel. Great service"
Stayed here end of Jan/start of Feb. Stayed in newly refurbished room which was very clean and modern. The maids obviously cleaned the rooms really well every day. Over the course of the whole week the staff (particularly the restaurant staff) were polite and courteous always greeting us with a warm smile and greeting. The choice of food for all inclusive is very good with Duck and Lamb appearing on the menu over the course of the week. Every time we passed a member of staff in the hotel they smiled and said hello.
If you are staying with children this is a superb hotel for kids entertainment as well as for adults. The entertainment team of Danny and Sabina were amazing encouraging participation from both adults and children alike. Our little daughter is only 21 months old and they encouraged her to take part when she was shy on the outskirts of the dance floor but by mid holiday she was in the middle of the kids disco dancing away. The shows which were every night were brilliant too with professional acts performing.
Overall this hotel has been the best 3* all inclusive we've stayed in and has been one of the most reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.
"excellent first time in Tenerife"
First holiday in january to Tenerife ...had a great time ..Staff were all fantastic and could not fault any of them plus dani and the rest of the animation team were so enthusiastic..great for kids and adults both...I am definately returning next year and will bring the baby this time
"Excellent loved our stay many thanks"
Big beds big rooms got plenty of saucepans plates etc if you wanted to cook. Which we didn't lol. Location good short walk to a nice strip of Bars and restaurants, plenty of shops. Did not use the bar or food but the service was good and great friendly staff. Would recommend.
"Great stay here"
Just got back from our stay here. We never got the best usual tenerife weather but was still nice to get away from the snow and ice in Scotland. Staff were friendly. Rooms were modern bright and clean. Food was good and there was a wide verity. Place ideal for kids as has a separate mini pool with a gate my daughter Aged 2 was able to play for hours here without escaping lol.
I'd like to say thank you to animation for making our stay so fun even though the weather wasn't great ❤️ Danni & Maggie ❤️ kept the whole family entertained day and night.
"great family holiday"
Lets start by saying this is a very pleasant hotel and all the staff are helpful and friendly. We travelled as a family and loved the food, our rooms and especially the entertainment provided by Danni and his team, who work so hard to maintain a great atmosphere for all.
Danni made a special fuss over our grandson AIden, who loved his Gangham style dance routine.
A special mention also to the poolside bar staff who always served without fuss and always with a smile.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Playa Olid and would return without hesitation.
"Great holiday"
Went 1st week in February and had a great holiday. The one bed apartments are huge!! We were all inclusive but there was still a little kitchen in the apartment with a good fridge, kettle and coffee maker included. The only thing that stopped me rating this hotel any higher was the lack of air conditioning, which wasn't so bad at this time of year but could be a problem in the summer months. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly, the maid was really good as well and we always had clean towels etc. Buffet food was always cooked properly and served hot, the themed nights were nice as well (especially the Chinese night). We would definitely return to this hotel.
"Great place and great staff!"
Me and my best mate felt very welcomed to Playa Olid. The room was nice and spacious and the level of cleanliness was great. Even if we got an old furnished room it was not a problem since we were most of the time out exploring the island. The food was diverse and very tasty. Lovely staff who always tried their best in offering a great service and making sure we are having a good time. Viktoria, Tatiana, Laura and Vasile went the extra mile in making our stay more enjoyable just as the animation team (Danni and Sabina).
Totally recommend.
"Absolutely brilliant!!"
A lovely clean hotel with great staff and a brilliant atmosphere!
Extremely satisfied with our recent stay here although the first room we were given was dark, as soon as we complained the staff did everything to move us to a room which was much nicer!
The hotel was extremely clean although the swimming pool was a bit chilly probably due to the time of year. Food was nice with a good variety but the best part of the holiday had to be the entertainment!
Dani was an absolute credit to the hotel! Fun, outgoing and involving not only the children but adults too! A true star! Well done Dani, keep up the good work! :)
Already thinking of returning again in the summer :)
"excellent to me but very good to most"
The title to this is confusing, but stick with the review and you'll get it.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are helpful and very efficient.
Everything you want or what I want from this hotel is available. Entertainment, quiet areas, good prices at the bar, three pools, large sun terrace and a Jacuzzi.
The food was very good for the size of the hotel. Breakfast all the usual, egg fryer to your liking on demand, or an omelette if you wanted it. Lunch again a slightly smaller version of evening meal. The evening meal had everything you wanted and more than you expected for this standard of hotel. Every meal had a choice of four meats, a roast, a grill and two cooked meats to the evening themes. Also a grilled fish and a prepared fish.
Plus desserts menu and a large selection of cheeses.
The reason for the title is the hotel is over four blocks and is a warren of stairs, up down in out all around. Even for the fit and able this is a lot. However, I didn't mind this and it should not take away the fact this is a very good hotel that gives an excellent experience.
The rooms are old and new style, some dark some light and bright, all are very large.
Location is very good, though on an hill. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by.
Stayed in room 2502 on all inc, never seemed over busy due to good staff.
Will return.
"another great time at the playa olid 06 january"
we stayed at the playa olid in January 2015. at this hotel for the fourth time fantastic hotel. we stayed in one of the upgraded rooms looking over the rear swimming pool. we will be doing this one again well worth the money. the food was good different things every day. the staff were lovely especially Esmeralda who made the best omelettes at breakfast always smiling. and maria jose who severed us drinks at the outside pool very friendly and spook good English. and the rest of the staff thank you for making this another great holiday. see you next year
"winter break"
just returned from 10 days at playa olid,we were a bit concerned about the position of the hotel with the reported steep hill down to the beach and all the steps inside the hotel,we,re both pensioners and didn,t have any problems whatsoever.phoned the hotel beforehand requesting a sunny balcony got room 4405 overlooking the rear swimming pool, fabulous apartment, best bed I,ve ever slept on,got sun all day long.we watched a couple of the shows and enjoyed them, the childrens entertainment looked very good, food I can only describe as excellent, amazing as its only a 3 star, staff are very friendly can,t do enough for you, special mention to LOIS. will definitely be returning soon.
"Fantastic place"
Just returned from a week in the Playa Olid ... It was an amazing holiday. Hotel was so clean, facilities great, the food was varied and lovely and the staff were superb and very attentive. It was my birthday the day i arrived and i was offered champagne on arrival by Monica at reception. Marie Jose looked after us at the pool bar every day (she was so funny), and the animaters Dani and Maggi were just the best ... I will certainly be returning to this hotel ... Thanks for a great holiday xx
