We stayed here a few years ago, and it was great....but it was even better this time!! They have painted , and upgraded the televisions to flat screens!!! Still a few rust spots on the things on the bathroom door. The room is really nice and cozy, and the sunrise was beautiful!!! I will stay here again!!! The only suggestion I have is to put a microwave in the rooms w/o kitchens!!! The staff was great. Couldnt get enough of pools & ocean - we will be back!

"Weekend Getaway"
This is an older hotel but very clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Some friends had recommended it, they stay here often. Not a fancy hotel but directly on the ocean and very clean and friendly. We will stay here again.

Prices and front desk were great. Front desk helps with anything you need with a smile and good attitude. Very nice. Very helpful. Need to ask for balcony to be unlocked to go out Indoor pool, which we did not use, because it was so cold outside and hall doors were open the first day, not the second day, but we left on the second day to go home as per our reservations.
"Family vacation perfection"
My family and I stayed at the tropical seas hotel in august and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. All of the staff was great, parking was great and it you don't pay as much as other hotels and you get just as good service etc...I think the only thing I would change is have key cards instead of actual keys and put microwaves in all units. We will be back in 2015!!

"Wonderful Stay"
Just returned from a trip to Myrtle Beach and stayed at the Tropical Seas. I had stayed there about 10 years ago and always enjoyed it then so I figured I would stay there again. I took my 80 year Mother with me for a mother-daughter trip. I had requested a room above the third floor so she would have a good view of the sunrise. We were on the 8th floor. The room was wonderful and we had everything we needed. Sat on the balcony every morning and evening and the view was spectacular. All of the staff was WONDERFUL and so friendly. Hope to go back in the spring.
"nice mediem priced hotel"
stayed here sept. 2014. nice clean rooms. two pools and a hot tub facing the ocean. staff friendly. will stay here again. prices very low in early september. get the side view rooms closest to the crown reef, better views than other side. bed was comfy. had a pizza place right in the building. nice hot tub.
"Older Hotel but Great Experience"
My wife and I stayed for about a week and the staff here is wonderful, I've never stayed at a place with a more friendly staff. The cleaning staff did wonderful, our room was spotless, and the hotel was always clean including the pools. We paid for a oceanfront room and the only things I disliked about the room was the rooms still have metal keys instead of cards, cell phone service isn't good (but Wi-Fi works well), and the mattresses felt a little hard. We would stay again and recommend. We also ordered from Mamma Mia's Pizzeria the hotel restaurant, and the wings was wonderful.
"Great to see Good Reviews of Tropical Seas Hotel"
My wife and I are snowbirds travelling from Canada to Tropical Seas for Jan to Apl.1st. 2015 (if all goes as planned) will be our 8th winter there,and we are so looking forward to it. We are treated like family, and really have no major complaints. Yes we can all find something that perhaps is not quite what we like, but that is human nature..right?. Cannot comment on the summer time at this Hotel, but if anyone is looking for a Winter bargain, you can't beat it. Staff, and Management are great. Hope to see you soon everyone.
"Will rebook this hotel in the future!"
The only negative thing I can say about our stay is that they only have one elevator (the steps where faster....that's if you were on the lower floors). My family had a wonderful time. I was pleased with our oceanfront room (gorgeous balcony view). We stayed on the 3rd floor. They have 2 swimming pools and a hot tub. It was never over crowded...plenty of room for everyone. There is also a small restaurant on the 2nd floor. Access to the beach was awesome. Within walking distance is a pier and a company who does jet ski, banana boat, etc..rentals. After my experience, I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
"Great oceanfront views"
Great oceanfront views the higher the better. The 5th & 8th floor ocean view is beautiful..Nice clean 2 pool and hot tube pool area oceanfront also..I had a great time..It is next door to the Crown Reef and they have a bar. The pizzeria on the 2nd floor has great food!
"WONDERFUL STAY!!"
I knew that this hotel was the hotel for us after readying the reviews, but I am always a little hesitant when staying somewhere new. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were on the 8th floor oceanfront, which came with a breathtaking view. Our room was extremely clean. Of course there were a few spots here and there that need to be repaired, or updated, but nothing, absolutely nothing that I am going to complain about!! Water pressure and hot water was plentiful, room space was adequate, efficiency room came with a small, full functioning stove, full size fridge, microwave, coffee pot and even had pots and pans, silver ware, cups and mugs. Pools were large enough! :) 2 full size pools with a hot tub. House keeping was fine, brought clean sheets and towels daily and took out the garbage. No bugs, no proof or trace of bugs, just clean!! The ONLY Negative things I have to say is the pillows are marshmallow soft (and I prefer firmer ones and forgot mine) and that the elevator is slow!! LOL...maybe it was because I had an anxious 5 year old with me! We had a wonderful time, and felt safe and secure at Tropical Seas. We will most definitely be back next year! I can't thank the staff enough for providing an ocean front hotel at an affordable price and keeping it up the way they do!! (They even provide luggage racks!!)
"Very nice!"
We recently stayed here for our vacation! We got a ocean view room! I wasn't to sure about staying on the top floor but it was okay! Rooms are clean and very cool temp wise! They need another elevator we had to wait along time for the elevator! Plus side is it is right on the ocean!! Love it here don't want to go home!

We have stayed here many times and have always had a good experience. We love staying in the oceanfront room with the separate bedroom and ocean view. It is always clean, nice staff, right on the beach, great prices and the pizza place is AMAZING!
"Unbeatable Deal"
My family and I just spend 3 nights at Tropical Seas. I stayed there once before, 25 years ago and enjoyed it then. This was the first trip to the beach for both my kids so it was really important to me that things went well; and I couldn't be happier. The hotel is right on the beach, with two pools and a hot tub. There's a pizzeria on the 2nd floor with the best pizza I've ever tasted (and I've tasted A LOT of pizza). The staff was amazing; I've stayed in several 4 star hotels and I've never seen a staff so dedicated to the guests. I never found the light switch to the balcony light; but I'd rather sit in the dark and watch the ocean anyway. The only part of this stay that wasn't perfect was the A/C in our room didn't seem to cool very well. But it is the beach so it's supposed to be hot right :) And the carpet in our room needs to be replaced; but it looks like that's in the works with all the renovations going on. I'll definitely be calling these guys when we're ready to go back to the beach. It's the best deal in Myrtle Beach by far.

Great place to stay. Staff members are always warm and welcoming. Never had a bad experience. We have been staying here for 5 years. We always get a balcony room, great view and love to listen to the ocean.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is old and needs remodeling and new appliances, but the views, atmosphere and staff were awesome. Parking was very handy and the beach was right outside our door. Loved the casual feel. Cant wait to stay here again.

Spent the past weekend at Tropical Seas for a truly to short girl's weekend. This hotel is your classic older concrete beach front hotel. Our room was on the 5th floor and was a 2 double bed room with kitchenette that overlooked the beautiful ocean and 2 pools and hot tub. The room was clean with a good size flat screen TV. Bathroom was of decent size and has great water pressure. There is a parking lot directly in front with overflow across the street. There is a pizzeria and ice cream restaurant on the 2nd floor. Which we didn't eat at but heard it is "pretty good". Maintenence seems to always be available and pool was cleaned every morning and maintenance was present extremely quickly, when a prohibited, glass bottle was broken on the pool deck. "great getaway for us"
first time staying here, loved the location, size of resort, nice, clean room, comfy new beds, very cold AC, pizza and ice cream on 2nd floor, 2 pools and a hot tub, what more could u ask for!!! great, would definitely stay here again!!! can't wait to see it after complete renovation.
"Good price, nice view"
Stayed a couple days over the holiday, parking is nice and right in front. The lobby staff is very nice. Check in was easy and quick. This hotel is undergoing a renovation so parts look a little rough but the room we had was clean, made up correctly and ready. The view was great. The back and side rooms have balconies. There is a pizza place on the second floor, we didn't try it but I am told that it's pretty good. It's a small drive from the main tourist places but you won't be paying for being close either. All in all I would stay here again. A good place to get away from the noise of the main drag.

I just returned from staying a week at Tropical Seas. My room was spotless with a great ocean front balcony and view. The staff was excellent and my room was ready early. Also the little pizza place there called Mama Mias had great food at a reasonable price. Also they had a clean bubbly hot tub that was awesome. For great a great ocean front room on a budget, I would recommend Tropical Seas.
