"The best vacation I have ever had"
When you enter your room, you will be surprised. A beautiful kitchen as you would have at home. Large comfortable living room with plenty of room and wide screen TV. Two gorgeous bathrooms and bedrooms with TV's. Better. than at home!
"Great Getaway"
Loved our stay!! Even though they are in the middle of renovations, it didn't slow us down one bit!! The renovated condos are very nice and the property was very clean for being in a construction zone. It is going to be an absolutely amazing resort once they are finished and we can't wait to come back!! My kids are so excited for the splash pad and lazy river that are being added!!
"Great motel!"
We got an upgrade to newly refurbished rooms. We had so much space, such nice beds and bathrooms, the kitchen was great, we will be coming back one day and hope that the seaside rooms are being fully refurbished by then, as our rooms were the furthest away from the beach.
"Family Vacation"
Wakulla is an older resort but we were pleased with our room. Plenty of room for 2 families with small children. We arrived early and since our room wasn't ready, they moved us to a beach front room at no extra cost. Beaches were beautiful and very close. The large patio before you enter the beach was a great place to watch the sunset. Can't wait to go back next year when renovations are completed.
"Awesome renovations"
To be honest, we almost cancelled after reading some reviews. We would have been so wrong. The newly renovated rooms are awesome. Two bed rooms like before but now there are two baths. One is a king master suite with a walk in glass shower (plenty of room for two) and the other is two twins with a standard bath shower combo. Double sinks in both. All new stainless appliances with an ice maker. The grounds are somewhat of an obstacle course due to the construction but the pool and courtyard are still usable. My first trip to this hotel was with my parents back in 1979 so I do have a little experience with this place. I think the whole place will be great when completed. The office staff was eager to make sure everything was going ok and asked if we needed anything anytime we stopped in. Can't wait to return.
"Great Florida Getaway"
Spacious Poolside suite with 2BR, both with walk-in closets. Great sitting and dining areas along with kitchen. Dining area a little on the small side, especially for 4 adults.
Suite was clean and well kept. Pool area great for our kids (15 and 17) and very short walk to the beach. There are plenty of propane grills on the property, about 12 of them.
Their is a private trolley to the Cocoa Beach Pier (Westgate owned) runs to and from every 30 minutes.
We stayed for 3 nights and had great time. New renovated rooms are to be remodeled for 2018 season. We saw the contractors visiting the site.
"Great Place to stay!"
This is a wonderful place to stay in Cocoa Beach. Friendly, clean, convenient and right next to the beach. Walking on the beach or on the street to the pier is great fun. Then have a coffee or snack and get the tram back to the motel.
"Beautiful tropical paradise"
Stayed several nights here over the course of a month or so... I stayed before westgate bought the hotel. The grounds keeper was able to give me a whole story about all the tropical plants on the premises and my first room was on the 2nd floor facing the pool. The room felt like an apartment fully furnished with two bedrooms, and a full Kitchen. Amazingly beautiful I'm sad it's a big chain hotel now, and not family owned like it was before.
"I just love this place"
I love this place I have stayed here 4 times in the past 5 years (we didn't go one year or it would have been 5 of 5)
It's just so pretty the aroma of the flower gardens in the mornings smells so sweet, the pool is nicely heated and fun times for family and meeting new friends.
The grills outside for grilling are great we use them a lot! The staff is all friendly and our housekeeper we had the last time we loved her she has been there a long time! She's very helpful as well the units all that we have stayed in have been clean and nice.
Lol no elevators so remember that when packing those stairs are easy to get up and down but with a full suitcase staying on second floor u can get your exercise but I love the overview of the gardens and pool up there
Beach is very easy to get to we always stay near the pool but only takes a few min to walk there, and the pier is near we actually walk it but it does take awhile to walk there.
The sunrise is nice every time I have been there it's been quiet on the beach at sunrise so it's a nice way to wake up!
"Great community in a tropical setting"
The Wakulla defies regular hotel descriptions. The rooms are more like apartments, and the combination of tropical plants, shuffleboard, the pool, and the bar-b-q's all around make it a really laid back comfortable setting. It is a great choice for teams. The fact that it has it's own beach entrance (and a wing of suites beachside) makes this place a total winner. If you expect fancy and refined, The Wakulla will fill that bill too when they finish the reno. Now it's just awesomely comfortable!
"Wakulla suites"
Very impressed with the whole experience at wakulla suites. The man at the front desk was very accommodating to my questions. My housekeeper was great. Room was clean and spacious. Loved the large living room and walk in closets. The gardens were absolutely beautiful. Stay in the courtyard you will enjoy the beautiful garden the pool was very big. Restaurants right beside facility. Right on beach. Will certainly stay again. I love the old Floridian feel of this hotel.
"Perfectly Wonderful, Inexpensive Suites"
We were very impressed with Wakulla suites. The price was reasonable, the suite had two bedrooms that were separate from the living room and kitchen. It was literally like staying in an apartment rather than a hotel room. Staff was also very helpful! We will return!
"Best Value in Cocoa Beach"
Our family of 5 stays almost exclusively with one particular hotel chain. For a one-night stay, we craved something different and more affordable. The FL-GA resident rate at Wakulla Suites was just too good to pass up.
We wanted amenities, space, cleanliness and charm. Wakulla Suites delivered.
We loved the storage galore, including huge walk-in closets, a linen closet and kitchen cabinets. The bedrooms and living room were spacious.
The grounds are beautiful with some quiet, serene areas with benches, chairs and grills. Families are welcome to have outdoor gatherings, which seems nice for reunions.
I appreciated the life vests for little ones by the pool. The beach is an easy walk away but does require crossing a street.
The free shuttle to the Pier was awesome. The polished brass and wood interior made it seem as if we had boarded an old trolley.
No problems at all with the AC or anything else! A bonus: temps at night fell into the 60's, so we cranked open the screened bedroom windows and enjoyed the cool breeze. It was so quiet at night, we heard nothing.
We got a late check-out with no added cost. Publix is a block away, as is Ron John.
"Super people, location, ambiance and a lot of value for your buck."
We have travelled many places in the world and the USA and this place is one of the friendliest most accommodating fun hotels we have stayed in. We discovered it by accident last year and have recommended it to all since. Bridgett and Jim at the front desk are the best along with a staff that can't be beat. The location, cleanliness and ambiance are top shelf. The tropical garden courtyard and beach access along with the 50's retro style are true Cocoa Beach! With a full suite and easy living it beats all the other beach hotels we've stayed in here over the years. It makes you feel like home, but in in paradise.
"Great place for overnight stay"
We chose Wakulla Suites on the advice of a family friend. The place is old but is very well kept, and cleaned. No complaints at all. The place is quiet and is centrally located to all the area attractions.
"Amazing Visit!"
This was our first time in Cocoa Beach and we could not have been happier with our hotel choice. It was comfortable, lots of friendly people staying there. Lots of families too. The room was clean and exactly as pictured. Not a fancy place, but a great value. We are already planning a visit same time next year!
Beach access is super for the money, BTW. Just a block up with a shower and chair and umbrella rental.
"Perfect place"
My friends and I gather every year for a girls weekend. 2 years ago my friends and I tried this place and we are so glad we did. The Courtyard rooms are like mini apartments. Living room, full kitchen, dining area, bathroom AND 2 bedrooms. ...with DOORS. Perfect if some of us want to visit and if some want to nap.
"A bit of family paradise next to the beach"
Fantastic! Of course I start with the beds: can you sleep here?
We had a suite with two rooms:
Master bedroom: kingsize bed: ~1.95(lenght)mx1.95m (width)
Kids bedroom: 2 single beds: ~1.90mx1m and 1.90x1.2m
So this is perpect for 4 people or a family of 5 with still very small kids.
The beds are of good quality.
The airco is good and not too noisy and apartment itself it really really cosy and nice. We immediately felt at home. You get a fully functional little kitchen with all you need for doing a bit of holiday cooking.
We were in suite 211, which is second floor and at the front of the resort. We had a nice garden/pool view and I find this a peaceful and cozy spot within the resort. We were close to the very well kept pool with good outdoor shower, there are multiple bbq's in the garden and lounge chairs and it was 5 min walk to the beach. Wakulla resort does stretch out to the beach and it is quite big, but doesn't feel big. We were convinced that we were staying in the best place all around anyway.
The beach is beautiful, the sea is shallow and warm and has long languid waves which are great and safe for kids to surf with bodyboards.
"Like having an apartment at the beach"
Found a great online deal for this resort. After staying in a standard motel room with two beds for the first half of our trip, this was exactly what we needed. Our suite was at the pool area. There is an adult pool and kiddie pool. In the court yard, there is a wonderful variety of trees and plants with seating, gas grills for your use, and shuffleboard. Our room was tile floor except for the two bedrooms. The master had a king bed, walk in closet, and dresser. The second bedroom had two twin beds. All of the beds were very comfortable with big, soft comforters and lots of pillows. There was a full bathroom. There was a living area with a sofa and two sitting chairs and flat screen TV. There was a desk and desk chair. In the dining area was a table with 4 chairs. The kitchen was small but fully equipped with a regular refrigerator (ice trays) stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes and utensils and a double sink. One can easily prepare meals in the room or court yard, or go to one of dozens of nearby restaurants, many within walking distance. And, of course the resort has its own entrance to the beach with a beach shower which was only about a block away from our room (most rooms are even closer). Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything in our room was reasonably up to date and clean. Wifi worked well and was free. All for about the price of a normal motel in town and half or less than some of the beach hotels nearby. We were very pleased and would recommend and would definitely stay there again.
"Pre-Cruise stay"
Check-in was friendly and quick. Room was dated but clean and comfortable. Two bedrooms, living room with sleeper sofa, two baths, and a full kitchen. Great rate for a large suite and family.
Nice pool and pool area. Family friendly resort with outdoor grills and seating in pool courtyard.
Short walk to beach.
"All 15 people in our party were blown away by this property"
We just arrived back from a 3 night stay at Wakulla Suites. We live only an hour away, but we love beach getaways. We've stayed in several properties in the Cocoa area, and this was by far the best. Our party had 15 people total, and 3 units was all we needed. Each unit sleeps 5, has a spacious living area, and a full kitchen with a full-sized fridge and all the dishes, pots, etc. that you need for staying in for meals.
My family stayed in one of the rooms facing the pool on the ground level, my brother's family was in another room facing the pool on the second floor, while my parents were in an accessible room, all of which are at the front of the property. While we weren't right next to each other, we were still close enough. (By the way, we weren't close to each other because of our needs, one accessible room, and my husband can't do stairs. Otherwise the staff were trying to get us close.)
The property is an older one, but most in the area are. It was cleaner than most chain hotels I've stayed in, of the Comfort Inn level. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The pool didn't have that slimy/sandy feeling that most beach resorts usually have. When I woke up Friday morning, there was a man cleaning the pool. I mean really cleaning it. Then he checked the levels in the water. Saturday morning, he was back again cleaning. Same thing Sundy morning. Seriously, I cannot stress how clean everything was.
The beach access may seem far for some, especially if you like to carry a canopy and chairs like we do. But there is parking right at the beach access so you can just pull your car around there and take your stuff for a short walk. The access there is for hotel guests only, so that section of the beach didn't seem super crowded. There's a volleyball net there, as well as a small place to rent chairs and umbrellas and paddle boards, etc.
This is definitely a family-friendly place. Down the street at the International Palms, mixed drinks are readily available at the beach, at the pool, several places. But here you don't have any of that. You can of course bring your own, don't expect to be able to buy anything there.
Ice machines weren't available, but you could buy a 5 lb bag of ice from the office for only $1.25. With a freezer to keep it in it lasts. There are vending machines for soda and snacks, but you're within walking distance of several fast food places, and you can drive to Publix or Winn Dixie or Walgreens in less than 2 minutes. You're only 12 minutes from the Port and some incredible seafood restaurants. Don't forget to check out the "Everything under $9.99" shop across the street. It was a hit with almost everyone. Strange, I know, but we loved it.
Our entire family loved this place. The pool area and garden is beautiful. The grills are spread around nicely, and we didn't have any trouble getting access to one for cooking. We will definitely be coming back.
"Wakulla suites"
The hotel is an older property but clean and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful. Having grills throughout garden area is a plus. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Parking is tight at night.
The walk to ocean is a little far due to layout of property but goes through gardens so enjoyable walk.
Beds were very comfortable.
"Excellent Place"
Great place to stay. Beds are really comfortable, has two bedrooms, kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, staff was very friendly and helpful. Common areas were well maintained, great swimming pool, they have bbq grills for guest use, washers and dryers as well! Close to beach, close to allot of restaurants and shops, highly recommended!!

It's not hi tech or modern, but it's the real feel Florida vacation..
No elevators or big cold lobbies to waste your vacation in...
Beautiful heated, pool right outside your door..
The beach only a few minutes outside your door..
The STAFF treat you like they know you...super good friendly staff..
Lots of family's to mingle with..
This is a great place to kick back and enjoy Florida..
Put the car keys away for the week
You can walk to anything you need..
We are looking forward to returning to WAKULLA SUITES in 2018..for our family reunion...
"wonderful"
We stopped here on way to Disney. What a wonderful surprise, affordable, yet a gorgeous beach, beautiful landscape, pool, outdoor grills, many of spordically throughout the hotel area. Had two great bedrooms, nice living area, kitchen area and dining table. We might have stayed longer if we had known about this before. Highly recommend this hotel. Also great restaurants near by.
"Great Escape"
I just returned from another wonderful vacation at the Wakulla with my family. The location is great and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The heated pool and easy access to the ocean is an added bonus. Our rooms were clean and spacious and the staff is so accommodating that they make you feel like family. A great place overall!
