"Best deal for a classy luxury hotel in the desert"
My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised to walk into the elegant and classy Indian Wells Resort Hotel. It had the feel of a hotel rated much higher with its beautiful appointments and decor. The pictures of Hollywood stars from of the past add another cool element to the hotel. The staff are top notch. We had a problem with our room and it was addressed immediately and professionally. The view from the back of the hotel is probably one of the best in the desert and the beautiful pool is inviting. The great deal comes with an adequate Continental breakfast. This place is well worth checking out and is probably the best buy for a classy place in the desert and for sure in Indian Wells. I'm coming back to this place.
"Best place to stay in Palm Desert"

"Indian Wells Resort Hotel"
A wonderful venue in Palm Desert. Good food and surroundings. Wonderful entertainment. This was originally built by Lucille Ball and Desni Arnaz and retains the flavor of glitz and glam. Lots of photographic memories in the hallways.
"Outstanding Dance Band !"
To be able to see, hear and dance to "The Ted Herman Big Band" in the lobby
lounge of the Indian Wells Resort Hotel was a total treat and unexpected experience!
Every Sunday evening--6:00 to 8:00PM--plus thoroughly enjoyed " Frank's Place" within the Hotel for appetizers and cocktails---great thin crust pizzas!
Complimentary dance lessons are available before the Big Band begins.
The "Big Band" also featured "Frank DiSalvo" and it was the perfect pairing.
Table 5 was the ideal location for getting right on the floor---our waiter was Ruben Ponce,
and He was excellent,
Don't go to Palm Springs and miss this rare opportunity to dance to a Big Band sound
featuring "Swing America"!
P.S. Say Hello to Larry---excellent bass player!
"Beautiful and nice hotel"
Staff very helpful. Resort clean with really decent amenities. Pool very clean and well maintained. Golf course in back makes the hotel view to look spectacular in the middle of the desert. Close to downtown palm springs. Rooms very clean and spacious.
""Frank Sinatra's music brings you back time""
I stayed at the The Indian Wells Resort over the weekend and I was not disappointed!
It's in a very noche area in Indian wells, close to the Agua Caliente Casino and also close to Palm Springs in case you feel like strolling in downtown.
Albeit it was not necessary since the resorts has everything to entertain you. A nice size pool, a great golf course and the best: Frank's place with singers that can take you back time and make your night enjoyable with Frank Sinatra's music.
The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. If only the bathrooms had nice ventilation or a window, that would be perfect!!!

"Great Smaller resort"
We got a Groupon deal which was great. But what interested us the most was the history. It is a smaller resort, spotlessly clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We enjoyed it so much, we stayed another two nights on the spur of the moment. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was tastefully furnished, and the bathroom great, updated. Breakfast was included, and was very substantial indeed. The pool spotless and great views overlooking the golf course and mountains. An added surprise, was a free show by Frank DeSalvo - who is an amazing musician, and singer, singing Sinatra era songs, - right up our alley. He performed for about 3 and a half hours, on his own, with about a 20 minute break. He has performed with a number of bands, and had his own at one time, also performed with BB King, and some others, also Las Vegas, but now living in Palm Springs. We watched his show for all three nights, and enjoyed them so much.
Perhaps this resort would not suit families with teenagers, who want lots of entertainment provided by the bigger resorts, but it suited us perfectly. We prefer the smaller hotels.
We will definitely stay there again.
"Get away in the mountains"
We went there last year to compete in a tennis match. Indian Wells is a top notch tennis facility where the pros play. Tennis courts are perfectly manicured against a background of beautiful mountains. It is a great experience j just too. Hold a tennis raquet there. There is also gambling near by and indian springs is only a half hour away. Don't d forget to see Marilyn Monroe,s statue or to go on the air tram through the mountains. Enjoy the warm , dry weather and have fun.

"Loved This Place"
I stayed here in early July with some friends and family. We paid $49 for a room and $79 for a suite, plus $20/day per room resort fee and the usual taxes. It came out to $190 total for 5 people, which is under $40/person...what a great deal! The package included free breakfast for 4 of us, along with 4 free cocktails at the bar.
I never went in the regular room, so I can only tell you what I thought of the suite. It was spacious and comfortable, featuring enough room for us all to relax comfortably in the living room area. It had two separate bathrooms, which was really nice. The main bathroom featured a nice tub and separate shower. The room was very clean and in good repair.
The pool/jacuzzi area were excellent. The deck was extremely clean, as was the water. Both bodies of water were heated to the appropriate temperatures. The pool deck overlooks a golf course, which adds to the relaxing feeling one gets while lounging about.
Overall Indian Wells Resort made a great impression on us and we will definitely be back, with or without another deal from Groupon. This place is worth full price, in my opinion
"Such a nice place!!!"
We had a girls weekend of laying by the pool, shopping, and great dinners. This hotel is in a great location and has excellent restaurants around it! Love this place highly recommend it! The staff are nice, decent rooms, and they have a shuttle bus to take you to near by places.
"My favorite place to stay in Palm Springs"
Just returned home from my 3rd stay at this hotel, and I was not disappointed. I prefer the 1 bedroom suite, so you have a separate living room and more space. I find the room very clean, I especially like the master bathroom -- separate bathtub and shower, and it's a huge room! I would highly recommend this hotel, but definitely try to find a deal on Groupon or TravelZoo.
Two suggestions - I wish they would make this hotel entirely smoke free (guests can smoke anywhere outside, just not inside the hotel/rooms -- but this means when you're in or near the pool/Jacuzzi, you'll probably have to deal w/the smoke). I also would like them to bring back the free happy hour food in the lounge (4:30-6p), and try to improve on the prices offered on drinks/appetizers during happy hour.
But I think it's a beautiful hotel, very safe and relaxing, and I will return on my next visit to Palm Springs.
"Girl's Weekender"
Found the deal through Groupon/Expedia. We got a great rate that included a continental breakfast. The hotel is nice and clean. We were attracted to it because of its nostalgic history. My bff and I are huge Lucy fans. The pool is great. One of the few hotels that will let you bring in your own cooler! Friendly staff....especially Will. The pillows weren't great, so bring your own. Met fun people at the pool and overall had a fabulous time. We may make it our annual Girl's Weekender destination.
"Stayed a night and booked with Hotels.com"
For $49 + resort fees & Taxes =$75. we had a really nice room and deluxe continental breakfast. What a deal. The pool and hot tubi area looked great but we didn't use it. Great little mid week deal. Lucy & Desi built this resort in late 50's but has been updated several times since. Great golf course and nice view from pool area...Would stay again....
"Escaping to La Quinta Resort, La Quinta, CA"
Seriously relaxing, a visit to La Quinta always takes me back in time. Even the winding pathways that crisscross the property seem to suggest slowing down to take in nature. Book one of the villa rooms on the upper level near the fabulous spa and get a bird's eye view of the property. Having been there many times, I still have not taken in all of the activities. This time, on a visit with my sister, we just vegged and read by the pool. The spa has been a destination in itself in past visits. The tennis courts, bikes and shops also beckon and have to be spread across a few trips at the slow pace this property inspires. Just reading and catching up on a good book or a relationship works here. Dining in the various restaurants and cafes is just right and discourages you from needing to leave the resort, but adventure calls throughout the desert area. It was a short trip, we hated to leave and the bellmen offered to take our picture as we dawdled on departure in the gorgeous lobby area of the hotel. We ran into the Managing Director at breakfast and thanked him for running such a great hotel. A sign of a hotelier extraordinaire, he only commented modestly that he was working on refining and making the welcome even more special in every way he could find. We look forward to our next visit.
"A peaceful desert retreat..."
Last week I accompanied my husband to a conference at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel, Indian Wells, CA. The weather was perfect (albeit a little warmer than what we've experienced at home) and we were given a room overlooking one of the fairways of the golf course. The room was spacious, clean, and well-supplied with toiletries and necessities in the event you forgot something. The property is well-maintained, has a lovely full service spa, good workout facilities, swimming pools, and delicious food. The town of Indian Wells (about 2 miles down the road) is full of good restaurants and cute shops. You're also close to Palm Springs (and the Tram), Palm Desert (with plenty of shopping) and plenty of good restaurants throughout the area. I highly recommend Indian Wells Resort Hotel for a special getaway.
"Luxury and Affordibility"
This is an oasis in the desert. I booked the day before and paid only $50 (plus resort fee) which was a great deal. Very posh but understated. Once owned by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, there are photos of all the stars from that era all over the hotel. Wonderful free breakfast buffet as well. High recommend staying here.
"excellent service"
These folks were super friendly, from the check in to the cleaning lady. The breakfast was great and the whole hotel just has this calm feeling to it. Pool was perfect temp, sparkling clean. Very relaxing, and we will stay again., especially if they do Groupon.
"Frank's Place...FUN!!!"
The five star rating for Frank's Place, as we did not actually stay at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel....but we went there to see Frank's Place!! Very fun!! It is located in the bar and lobby of the hotel. A gentelman puts on a floor show, featuring atll the "oldies but goodies." I know, this sounds strange, right??? But let me tell you how much fun it was!! You can go there for just cocktails, or for dinner. The songs he sang....from Frank Sinatra to Billy Joel!! They have great old time pictures up in this area where he sings from....so even they are great to go and look at! He starts around 5 or 5:30, and there is no cover charge until 7:00 ( I think....this was our first time there, so I don't know all the particulars....) and then the charge is only $10 a person!!
I had the Frank's steak...for $33.00 and it was delicious!!! My husband had the Milanese Veal, and he thought my steak was better.
The service was attentive and spot on!
The ages of the customers enjoying themselves was teenager to 90!!!! Go for a REALLY fun nite!!!
"Great Value and Location!"
My wife and I stayed there in January and we were both pleasantly surprised. It is an older property but not too crowded when we were there. enjoyed the nostalgic atmosphere and thought the happy hour service was a nice touch. Interesting older motif and interesting people in the lobby bar. The view of the Golfers playing the course in back is certainly nicer than looking out at a parking lot full of cars like some other budget hotels offer. Nothing fancy but worked for us. we will come back. The staff was happy we enjoyed our stay.
"Nice spot without a real high price"
I have used this hotel in Indian Wells for several years as a good business hotel for my needs. I always take a suite that allows me to have a nice living room and a large bedroom and bath with both a shower and a tub.
Originally built by Ricky Ricardo and Lucille Ball, there are many photo's of the early days ( 60's) of the property. Entertainment in the evening is ok, the breakfast included in the price in the morning is a self served, but very amble.
Most of the rooms I have used have been nicely decorated. Good location with many places to eat in the immediate area. Do watch the Adult beverages. Indian Wells Police are most active for DUI arrests in the valley. Not really a kids type of crowd. Generally a bit older group. Some younger couples.
"Very lovely accommodations. Noisy neighbors in next room"
Hotel is lovely. Room was comfortable and I liked the place. Lots of photos on the wall that were fantastic. Lucille Ball, Desi Arnez, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra....
Continental breakfast is great. It included real oatmeal, not those packets, cold cereal, juices, hard boiled eggs, youghurt, fresh fruit, and nore. There is also a menu if you want a non-continental breakfast.
"Nostalgic and nice"
My daughter and I booked this hotel for an overnight stay while traveling from Northern California to Phoenix. The hotel is a little old school - like stepping back in time - but in a good way. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful. The rooms are standard sized - and we had true "double" beds - which is what was advertised when we booked. The staff was friendly, all was clean and there were places to eat and shop within about a mile (as well as on-site eateries and room service.) The hotel is a bit older - but we embraced and enjoyed that. The staff was nice, the fitness center is open 24 hours (the pool closes for maintenance soon), there is a small on-site gift shop.....etc. I would come back and I would stay longer. Because of the age, the prices are better here - and I thought that it was a real value.
